You'll enjoy the photos best

Bahama House was very ok. Its greatest feature was that it was on the beach. The staff was also pretty good, especially considering the accommodations. However, the hotel felt like a moderately redone failed vacation condo building, lacking in the attention to detail you might expect from the online photos. For example, the grout in the bathroom was pretty badly stained and our mattresses felt like they were at least 25 years old. Daytona Beach has a lot of beachfront hotels. If I ever went again, I'd either stay at someplace cheaper or somewhere that was clearly nicer.

Smelly

The hotel was basically Good. The rooms were dated and very smelly. It was overwhelming to walk in the room and smell how horrible it was. I could keep the patio door open to air it out. This helped a little and, unfortunately, you just get used to it. I think the smell came from the mini fridge in the room, the freezer part. The beds were getting old so not that comfortable. The hotel looks nice on the outside. The sign outside the hotel said boutique. It is not. Overall, it would have been fine but the smell really got to me.

Cannot believe the '5' ratings

[...] We were also surprised by how run down the whole Daytona Beach area was, including the immediate area around this hotel. We will not stay in Daytona Beach or this hotel again.Oh, and the 'deluxe breakfast' was anything but 'deluxe'. Styrofoam and plastic, only short cocktail tables to eat from, and nothing hot or cooked. Don't see how this can be decsribed as deluxe. The attendant was very nice and kept things stocked.

not as good as years before

We come every year and this year we had to change rooms because they didn't have the room we had asked for. The next day they did give us a room with the two beds but the bathroom had no vanity just a small sink, that for two women to use was not pleasant! No room for curling iron toothbrush, toothpaste etc.etc.The front staff was not as friendly as years past, and really didn't seem to care whether we were happy or not. Probably our last visit.

Decent Hotel

The Bahama house was a decent budget hotel to stay in. Surprisingly, it was very clean during spring break. Some of the staff was very condescending and unfriendly towards our group (21+ males on spring break), which was disappointing. We can read contracts, handle responsibility, and have stayed in MUCH nicer hotels/resorts/lodges, thank you. Other than that there was nothing highly remarkable - it was quiet inside, there wasn't much to do (20+ minute walk unless you want to get a tattoo across the street), facilities were good enough for the price. My overall impression of the Bahama House was that it tries to appear classy when in reality it is average.

Like a interstate motel with lipstick

Many better motels/hotels offer a full breakfast the Bahama House offers a free cocktail hour in place of a full breakfast

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

A full buffet meal can be had at "Sherrys" just a short drive North of the Bahama House on the left. The food is excellent, the prices very reasonable and the service was great. It is family run, try it you will like it.

! boutique hotel !

The hotel is ok , in my opinion overpriced.Staff very friendly.A little bit out of area, South Daytona Beach is a ghost town with a lot of empty new construction time shares or rental condos. The best thing : the room with refrigerator, microwawe and an small stove.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Be carefull with the place you park you car, mine was towed and I have to pay $ 160.00 in cash to the towing company to get it back. It happened to me close to Ocean Walk Shoppes.
