Plantation on Crystal River

Very picturesque setting. Very nice room. Food was very good in the restaurant and grill. The restaurant was a little noisy with poor acoustics. Golf course was a good value for the condition of the course. Nice layout but needed better maintenance.

Great hotel with excellent location and amenties. Pool and hot tub are great. Restaurant has excellent food as does the bar.

Attractive grounds and nice "resort" for the money. Rooms are large and spacious, but ours was especially dark. The toilet was running when we checked in to the room, the iron didn't work, and the phone was not programmed to reach the front desk. Our room keys didn't work twice. However the front desk was apologetic and addressed each issue. The A/C worked fine, but when there was a cold snap, there was no heat. Housekeeping failed to replace coffee one morning and soap another. The dining room was hit and miss. One morning, it took a full 30 minutes to get coffee and oatmeal; another I ordered eggs and toast and got eggs and bacon (no toast). One night, they wouldn't seat us in the dining room because we didn't have reservations, even though there were plenty of empty tables (still empty two hours later). It is the year 2012. McDonalds, Motel 6, and hundreds of other places offer free WiFi, so hotels that charge $10/day for internet access are very out of touch. That will be a consideration when I look for places to stay in the future. The staff was very friendly, and the hotel felt quite homey.

This is a very nice hotel with beautiful grounds. We will stay there again next year.

We started a little rocky when the front desk clerk described the room as having two double beds. We had booked a king bed through Orbitz. The front desk clerk was very nice and apologized. He looked at the Orbitz booking and acknowledged it stated a king, but he did not have any king rooms available. The entire inn was booked for the Valentine's weekend. It was midnight, we were tired, we agreed to the double room.We got up early the next morning and walked to the Inn's dive shop that was just outside our door and went on a "Swim with the Manatees" tour. The staff in the dive shop were polite, professional and efficient. We enjoyed this tour with Captain [...]. The tour was about 3.5 hours and covered about 4 locations. We will do this tour again when we return.We went to two local resturants to eat lunch and dinner. There are lots of good seafood resturants within 5-10 minutes of the Inn. We had a very good grouper sandwich at Cracker's. Our plan was to play golf on Sunday, but it started to rain just after we completed our morning run. The golf course is right across the street, and what we could see on our run looked nice. All in all we had a very relaxing time, and we will plan another trip soon. Our only complaint about the room, besides not getting our King bed, was the air conditioning. It was warm for February and we could not get the temp to drop below 78 in the room. We both like it cooler while we are sleeping. If the AC does not work any better in the Summer months, it would be very uncomfortable in the room. This was our first trip to Crystal River, and we plan on going back when we have a long weekend. We will stay at this Inn again and we will bring our golf clubs and fishing poles. Hopefully the weather will be better on our next trip so we can sit out by the pool and watch the boats go by.

We were going to swim with the manatees in Crystal River. If you're going there, the Plantation Inn was a good place to stay. We stayed in the newer (remodeled) rooms. Ask for them. Only drawback was the restaurant (Savannah). Only about 9 people in dining room when we were there and still service was poor. Food was not tasty. Overpriced for what we got. Soup was really poor! Would not eat there again but would stay there.

The Plantation Inn is very quaint. It's positioned on a beautiful river with a great view from the pool. The bathroom was a good size with a seperate vanity area.The restaurant had a good atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Die Lage ist hervorragend, das Essen ausgezeichnet und das Personal freundlilch. Leider haben die Zimmer einen sehr feuchten Geruch. Es wäre höchste Zeit die Teppiche durch einen Holzboden oder Laminat zu ersetzen. Schade. Wir waren froh nur ein Nacht in diesem Zimmer verbringen zu müssen.
