The spa is a holistic haven with seven treatment rooms, including a couples suite for side-by-side pampering.

Rooms

A total of 179 guest rooms -- all large enough to be considered suites -- show off a contemporary, upscale feel with a global collection of furniture and accent pieces.  The Art Nouveau rooms take inspiration from Europe, Asia, the Caribbean, Mexico and South America to create a Zen-like setting with heavy woods, sculptured plaster ceilings and Tiffany stained-glass windows. Guests will be awestruck by other details such as hand-carved mahogany headboards, sea-grass furnishings, Egyptian cotton bedding, stone floors and marble bathrooms with Roman spa baths. Select rooms have balconies with Japanese hot tubs. A set-up fee for these rooms applies.

Features

The hotel is set in the exclusive waterfront enclave of Coconut Grove. The hotel spaces feel like private sanctuaries, including the open-air rooftop pool, where guests soak up panoramic views of Biscayne views from cabanas, and the 4,500-square-foot Jurlique Spa, a place to retreat for massages, facials, nail and body treatments. An all-day restaurant, 24-hour fitness center and candlelit Art Deco-inspired lobby bar round out the offerings.

Good Value and Convenient Location

The only problems that I had were with the exercise room where the stationary bike as well as on of the jogging machine were broken. The hotel charges the same for a full breakfast or a continental one ($22.95) without the benefit of informing you in advance.

older but nice

Good location although construction made it more difficult to get there then it had to be. Called a few weeks before our arrival to see about a room upgrade since we had another party joining us and was told that they had plenty of two bedroom suites and they would take care of me when I checked in. Alas, no rooms available because of a wedding-must have been a last minute wedding, I guess. Car valets seem to play favorites-some are allowed to park in front for a few minutes while others are not.

Good value

I grew up in Miami and now live elsewhere. When I return to visit family I choose to stay here, in Miami's oldest neighborhood, Coconut Grove. The Grove has always had a special vibe about it and was always my favorite neighborhood. The Mayfair is a good value for the area. It's very convenient to all the shops & restaurants in Coconut Grove. Only minutes from the beach if that's your preference. The rooms are roomy, comfortable and with nice private balconies with hot tubs. Yes, if you look closely you can see a bit of wear & tear that comes with age, but it has been extensively remodeled. I've stayed in many of the other hotels in the Grove, but prefer the Mayfair to all the rest.

Best Hotel Stay in Miami

First I would like to say that Kerry at the front desk was amazingly hospitality. She was extremely nice and a pleasure to be the first point of contact to this establishment. I was upgraded to a very nice room because there was not a hot tub in my room as promised. The new room had a jacuzzi in the room, The staff was excellent the cleanliness was exceptional. I will def stay here again. 5 stars.

First Stay In Miami

This was my first time in Miami, and as far as the hotel goes, it was great. The location was nice, but hard to find due to large amounts of construction. The staff was great, even made us coffee after the cafe was closed. Overall, it was a great experience. (I rated the amenities average because I didn't use them.)

Super Star get away!!!

Our stay at this hotel made us feel like celebrities. We loved the fact that our dog was able to stay, and all because this hotel is pet friendly. Every time we needed something for our room they came right away with no long wait. Overall this hotel is amazing.

Great location

You can't beat the location of this hotel, right in the middle of Coconut Grove. The price isn't too bad either, so overall it wasn't a bad experience. However, the rooms aren't particularly great. The hot tub, although nice, cost $30 to fill up. The bathroom isn't bad, but the shower is built without a door, which is a little weird, and there's only one outlet in there that's high up on the ceiling (but the coffee maker is in there). There's a very small refrigerator, but there's really not any room for anything else since it's stocked with all the overpriced drinks. The bed was nice and it's decorated well, which helps when you want to relax. Also, the elevators are very slow.
