My recent stay at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort was a much anticipated time for me to get away from the craziness of work and holidays and just relax and recharge. The location is perfect; a leisurely stroll to the beach so no driving required. In
fact, even though I had rented a car, I drove it less than 100 miles in the 7 days I was there. The only thing that keeps my experience from being 5 stars is that the Iowa Hawkeyes marching band truck was parked in the lot blasting out the same 3 fight songs all day on my final Sunday. It was a rainy day, and that made sitting in my room reading or taking a nap nearly impossible. Aside from that, I had an excellent time and would not hesitate to recommend this resort to my friends and family.

No Public Transportation
Clearwater is a sleepy town with a nice beach. Tampa Bay, where the football game was being held, was a little bit more alive. But no beach. Now, if I wanted to hangout in Tampa, it wouldn't cost $75 one way in a cab. No buses, no trains between
the two cities. Unbelievable! It would've been nice to be able to travel from the beachfront to the stadium via public transportation. Next time I'll rent a car, because I'll think the politics down there are working against each other.
