Howard Johnson Inn and Suites Clearwater FL

We don't have a lot of money to go away so decided to take a little trip to Tarpon Springs for the Great Greek Food. We chose Howard Johnson's to stay because the day we got married we went to a Howard Johnson's. Upon arrival I have never felt more "uninvited" in my life. I was not even greeted with a hello or welcome. I told the hostess that we were spending our 47th wedding anniversary there and she said "last name" I gave it. "Sign here" so I did and was given 2 keys and told where the room was. My husband went to get coffee the next morning in the dining room and the same person was standing outside smoking so he asked her where to get coffee and she pointed to inside. Not one word to him. Upon checkout there was no one at the front desk to check us out so I left the keys on the desk and left. I"m sure Mr. Johnson would turn over in his grave as this is ot how we have alwasys been treated at a Howard Johnson's. Needless to say we will NOT return to this hotel.

The hotel was dirty, the plugs kept blowing out could not use a hair dryer.

I was there for the Christmas holidays, and it the stay was excellent, the room was clean and cleaned well; the staff was friendly and helpful, as they was knowledgeable about the local area spots. The price was super-good, and I would certainly be looking for that same deal in the future, as I plan on coming back in March/2010.

I had no problems finding the hotel from the Tampa Airport. It was not far from the business location. It served the purpose and was comfy. I had a good experience and would recommend this hotel.

The room was unclean, The blanket on the bed was disgusting. The room was noisey. The "continental" breakfast consisted of stale bagles - period. The shower had only two towels.I have dryed my dogs with better towels. This is most likely the second worst hotel I have had the misfortune of staying at. I would not recommenmd this hotel to anyone!

I liked the small refrigerator, the microwave, and the coffee maker. Great for snacks & morning coffee, even though the hotel offered continental breakfast in the lobby. The in-room safe was a very appreciated place to keep extra cash. Desk and Housekeeping staff very friendly and informative.

Hotel is right on US 19. We were visiting family nearby so it was a good choice. Priced right and it had a big pool for our kids to enjoy. There is also a hot tub. Lots of fun. The staff is very helpful. My daughter forgot her teddy bear and the staff we kind to mail it back to us in New York.

I woud not have been so dissapointed in this hotel if they had not sold them selves as such a premiere Howard Johnson. It really could have been if it hadn't been right next to a car dealership that played music as loud as they could all day. Then room was nice enough, with only minimal water damage. On the positive side, the hotel was such that I didn't wish to hang around, and I really got out and saw all of Tampa and Clearwater Beach.
