Candlewood Suites CLEARWATER

Central location to all the Clearwater/Tampa activities. Pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the facility. Staff was very friendly and accomodating.

Moved over from across the road...yikes. This hotel was far superior to its competitor. Good sized room and fast wifi. Can't complain for a basic room.

I like to be short and sweet, well, like all guys do. Candlewood was great, staff nice, location good. 20 minutes to Clearwater Beach, love it. Going back in December. See ya then.

Candlewood is set in a nice location and the room and staff were excellent.

We stayed in the long term stay portion of the hotel and were somewhat disappointed. Our room smelled of old food. Our sheets were old and stained. The room was very open and good for just sitting around and talking. Our children stayed on the couch and my wife and I stayed in the separate bedroom which was hot and non-ventilated. I would think twice before staying here again.

Overall good hotel, we only stayed for one night so we basically just used it for a place to stay for the night. First the good: When we arrived, the front desk worker was courteous and efficient. We got a free movie and they include free wifi. Their was plenty of parking, the grounds and interior were clean with no bad odors. The room includes a small kitchen with a stove, apartment sized fridge, microwave, and sink. The bed was fine - not as nice as luxury hotels, but definitely better than other budget hotels and plenty comfortable to sleep on. I am sensitive to smells, but this room was fine (in fact we switched rooms and they were both fine in this respect). Ok, now the bad: As mentioned above, we switched rooms; the reason was because the first room was on the first floor on the parking lot and the latch on the window was broken so it did not feel very secure (they switched our room with n issue). The TV was a very old, low quality tube tv and there were only some "staticy" local channels - seemed to be no cable. The pillows were oddly small and there were not enough of them for two people (because they were basically half-sized pillows).

I reserved a room with two queen beds and when we checked in they told us that they didn't have that. They then blamed orbitz and said that we should have called to confirm with the hotel. Very odd. Instead of offering us a room with a pull-out (which they had) for free or at a discount they said we could upgrade. Overall, we spent very little time in the hotel, so this wasn't a huge deal, but it would have been nice if their front desk person was more concerned about us and less about pciking up his delivery pizza.

Average. I'll never stay at a hotel again that says value out front. That means you're not going to like somethings inside.

The room was perfect! They have a convenient 'store' with snacks and drinks. The pool was okay.
