fees and costs

the cost to park is between $14 and $18 per day, even self park without ever leaving your space while at the hotel. Extra high costs for food and other "mandatory resort fees" that are added $16 per day plus $15 in fees and taxes per day. So expect to pay at least $31 over quoted price per day.

Great place for golf but not much else

Not happy with the unexpected "resort" charge after having paid in full before arrival. Didn't feel there was full disclosure re: price.

Omni Orlando Resort

They have a great pool set up. The bad things were no microwave in rooms, you have to pay for parking plus tax on top of a resort fee. They pretty much charge you for everything. Never knew water could be so expensive.

ADVENTURE AT THE OMNI

THE OMNI CHAMPIONGATE HOTEL MADE BE RATED AS 4 1/2, BUT THERE WAS SOME DISAPPOINTING MOMEMTS. I ARRANGE TO HAVE 2 BEDS IN THE ROOM, THE CONCERIGE GAVE ME WRONG DIRECTIONS, THE CLEANING STAFF LEFT MY HOTEL ROOM UNLOCK AND LEFT THEIR RAG BEHIND. CHRISTMAS GIFTS WAS REMOVED FROM THE HOTEL ROOM. THE ASSISTANT MANAGER REPLACE 3 CARS FROM THE SUNRISE AND SUNSET GIFT SHOP. BUT I WAS CHARGE FOR THE TOYS.... MY LAST NIGHT AT THE OMNI, I WANTED TO CHECKED MY BILL AND MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS OK...I FOUND THAT THEY CHARGE ME FROM THE GIFT SHOP & RESORT FEES.

Great Pools

For the Value and the outdoor amenities this is a wonderful hotel. The Only draw back are the beds. They are not very comfortable and the sheets feels like they have been starched.

Great attitude, but irresponsible

The staff was great; however, as we got there they were unable to find our reservation at first, which was very uncomfortable for us to have to dig through our stuff to be able to find our reservation number. Also, we got charged twice for our room, since they were I guess too lazy to check that we had paid in advance, and now we had to jump throguh hoops to avoid our bank accounts to go on overdraft since we are on a budget. Perhaps all that good attitude could be put into good use when it comes to those incharge of dealing with charging the guests.

Unbeatable location for the price

The hotel overall was great!! The pool and lazy river do it all especially if your going to relax!! Room Service had cooked food available almost 24hrs.!! I loooved this hotel and would highly recommend it! The only downfall was that it was a bit warm throughout the night and decor in the room needs to be updated.

the nice and not so nice

Go to Croc's Grill by the pool for blackened grouper and margharita (or 2)before floating down the lazy river on inner tube (no cost for tube).Water depth just 3'deep; no problem if you fall off your tube while trying to change positions! Uber relaxing; could've floated for hours! Outdoor fire pit adds to ambience at night.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

La Nouba Cirque du Soleil, about 15 minute drive. Allow extra time for parking and walking to the "big top". This was an exquisite entertainment experience, appropriate for all ages. Very worth the money. There are no "bad" seats...go for the cheapest you can find by googling "La Nouba". Small arena and every seat is excellent! I paid top price because I was not familiar with the layout and wanted a good seat.

LOVED IT !!!!!

We knew nothing about Omni at Champions Gate and only found it via a very popular review site and [...] ratings. We booked our travel in November and came for Spring Break, Mar27-Apr3. The Hotel was spotless, and everyone was friendly. We decided to stay in the Villas because the price was so reasonable. We ended up in what amounted to a 3 bedroom, 2 bath condo witha dining room/family room and kitchen. Made b-fast every morning. Had a terrace too. The pictures on the site look great, but it was bigger than it looked. There was also a wahser/dryer unit in a closet. Lots of closet space, lots of outlets, free wifi and internet. Makes it great for Facebook posting your pics at the end of days with kids. The pools were GREAT. The main pool is beautiful and large. No diving boards or lifeguards, but my kids are good swimmers, and we watch them for the most part. A lazy river and a quiet pool - that is actually quiet. Each pool has it's own Hot Tub, and those did get crowded. There is also a separate pool for the Villas building, and it has a Hot Tub too. The "Villas" are just condos in a second building called "Building 2", it confuses some folks. Towels are given out with via showing your room key, and they give as many as you need. The golf course looked great, and they had clubs for rent at the pool house, but I am not a golfer. The tennis courts and basketball looked good too, but we were happy to stay in the pool or rest on loungers. As Easter weekend approached, it got much more crowded, and they started checking room keys to get into the pool areas. They had not done that all week, or the weekend prior. We ate many times at the Pool bar, and drank there as well. The food was average to good at the bar, and expensive but not crazy. The food in the restaurants was on the very expensive side for what is was, taste and prep. We didn't eat there much anyway. Though we did like the Delis, and the outdoor food. We never even checked out the stores in the main building!! The resort is about a 5 -10 min. drive to Disney World. About 20 to Universal. We were glad we had a car, and the hotel had advised us to get one. We rented movies at a Redbox, went to the grocery and drugstore, and traveled a lot to the parks. The hotel has shuttles, but then you are locked into their travel times. Buying 3 days of passes at Disney is almost the same as buying 6 (There is about a $20 difference to buy the extra days) So, we were very happy to come and go as we pleased. Our first planned day of Disney it poured buckets... but the rest of the week was perfect weather. My wife and I kept looking at each other thinking something was bound to go wrong, or we were crazy, but the place was just fantastic, and it was crazy reasonable $$. So happy we found it !! We'll be back..........

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

My daughter and her friend went crazy for the Slingshot on Universal Parkway ( Near Universal, on strip ) - tallest in the World ( supposedly ) bought the video package, and vids were on Youtube that night. As parents, we probably should get the worst parent of the year award, but we watched 10 groups in a row go without a hitch, and the night before, we went and were turned away because winds were above 12mph. Seemed well maintained, and well managed.
