Each floor had docents which added to the expense. If you wanted ice you had to call, hot water for tea, seemed like everything. And then wait, and tip.

The most comfortable bed ever!

Loved the fresh hot coffee delivered to my door when I woke up! The room was a nice size and very beautiful but the bathroom gave me clausterphobia! The $22 cost to valet park is a bit high since self parking is not easily done there.

everything I dreamed of and more...

This is easily the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen... perfect location, perfect beach, staff were SUPER helpful and the amenities were fabulous. The restaurant/bar is an absolute MUST- brunch was superb, coctails on the deck were delish- everything is really expensive, but worth every penny. Even getting the room for only 150/night, the whole weekend cost us about $900, and we hardly left the hotel!

Nice Decor, but not up to full potential

On a good note, we enjoyed the location and the beautiful decor--both in the hotel and in our room. They were very pet-friendly, as well. However, the per-day resort fee did not make sense in the winter months, as we did not really use the resort (i.e. outdoor pool, beach chairs, etc.). Furthermore, we knew that the fee covered drinks in the mini-fridge and snacks, but we did not realize we had to request refills (rather than them just being replaced each day). (It turns out the docent should have told us). The docent also offered dog biscuits (which was nice), but did not follow through. Although this was not the end of the world, it was one more example of slightly less than stellar service. (Which you expect with the resort fee/room cost). Finally, the bathroom was really, really small -- you had to stand in between the toilet and shower to be able to shut the door, for example. Very difficult for a couple to both use the bathroom to get ready in the morning. We inquired about switching rooms and were told that all rooms except the suites had the same floor plan.

wonderful!

This was the best hotel that i have stayed at. Everyone was amazing, polite, friendly and attentive. It was very welcoming and beautiful! I hope that this hotel does well because I look forward to going back again and again. Right on the ocean, walking distance to good restaurants and local coffee shops.

Didn't live up to the hype...

PROS: Ocean One is well located on the beach and near quaint tourist shopping and dining. Beds are very comfortable and well appointed. The entire facility was clean and neat as a pin. CONS: The room was small and the bathroom was absolutely miniature. The ocean view was obscure. The windows DO NOT OPEN - (reportedly to keep guests from jumping !?) - and thus the ocean view was obscured even further by constant condensation. There are no coffee makers in rooms and it is a major to-do to get one. The Docent concept is corny and worrisome. Staff, for the most part, was not proactive and didn't seem professional or particularly personable. I did not use the spa, the workout room or the restaurant. The whole place felt very plastic to me. Will not return nor will I reccommend to others.

Prepare to be pampered

We had a room with a balcony and direct ocean view that was beautiful. Everything is new and modern. The staff pays extra attention to making sure you have everything you need. They delivered coffee and ice to our room at no extra charge. Our requests were met promptly and by an enthusiastic and well-informed staff. We didn't want to leave the hotel. If you decide to venture out, there are local stores and restaurants in walking distance that are great as well as the beach, of course. Next time I will try the spa and I will stay longer!
