Great resort - frustrating customer service

The resort was beautiful - room was clean and comfortable, restaurants were good. The thing is we had quite a difficult time with the front desk staff. I booked three ocean front rooms. When I arrived, none of the three rooms they were going to give me were ocean front. I was surprised, but I figured this would be easy to fix because I could show them the confirmation showing three PAID FOR ocean front rooms. This is where I got really shocked. The front desk staff didn't seem surprised, or quite frankly, interested in my situation. He changed my personal room to an ocean front one and tried to give me the keys without doing anything about the other rooms in my party that were also supposed to be ocean front. I had to politely ask REPEATEDLY to get him to continue trying to get everyone's room sorted out. In the end, we still didn't get all ocean front rooms because they were overbooked. And then, instead of adjusting my price for their error, he told me to call the site I made the reservation through (this one) to ask them for a partial refund. I was blown away!! To make it worse, one of the other people traveling with us had a hold placed on their debit card of over $800 (for incidentals on a room that was already paid for...). And to top it all off, when I checked out they tried to over bill me for the rooms. In their defense, everyone was polite and they did keep working on these issues, but it felt like they had no training whatsoever. It is a beautiful property, but I'll probably try somewhere else next time because of the service.

Great beach get away

While the price of the Villas has increased since Omni bought them, it's still a great beach vacation. The condo was steps to the beach with balconies overlooking the ocean. The 2-BR condo was great for my family of 5, giving us plenty of space to spread out. A massage at the Spa is a must and the hotel pool is perfect for young kids.

Mother/daughter getaway.

I have to admit, my daughter and I are a bit spoiled as far as travel is concerned, but we were very pleasantly surprised with the service and amenities at this resort. This is NOT a new resort and the villas reflect some of the wear and tear, but the setting is absolutely gorgeous, with tree lined trails, plenty of shopping, several pools and one of the prettiest beaches I have ever seen. There are so many activities planned for kids of all ages, no one could possibly get bored. A bit pricey, yes, but you guys made it affordable for us. Highly recommend both!

Anniversay get a way

Nice place, very nice employees. Great Restaurants, Was not happy with the shuttle service tho. We called for them about 15 mins before we had to and they were still late coming, had to call down to the office a few times to remind them. Also, had trouble reaching people in the hotel when I called, the phone just rang and rang. Need better cusomer service. But overall had a great time and will be back.

hidden costs

Nice facility nice location On the property there are different restaurants some of which were not run by the hotel Ask before booking as the quality varies greathly staff very courteous room was listed as a villa but actually just a nice room in a 7 story building near the main hotel were placed on ground floor location with traffic outside Our stay was at the time of busy, noisy convention with the main pool closed to accommodate this group for 2 days Had to pay for beach lounges and umbrella $30/day There was a facility fee of $40/day for things we did not use such as valet parking, shuttle, pool which was hard to understand for a resort They were gracious and adjusted this fee If you can get a room that is not on the ground floor and are aware of the extra fees this is a good choice for a vacation

OK but expensive

Wouldn't pay top dollar as it is getting there but not at a level that deserves what they charge. Was there for a major event in the area and staff was totally unaware of the logistics.

Not good for business travel

I was in phase one of the Villas. Accessing WiFi was much the same as getting on at a friends house. The router did not have a name the was discernible from that of the local residents. I had to call the front desk to be given a 24 character password. None of that was given at check in. A microwave took up half of the desk. There were not any additional plugs for charging. My first night I plugged into a socket that was on a switch and the switch was off. The room was too dark and none of the lights were plugged into any of the switched sockets. Oh, and the patio furniture on my deck was all dirty and covered in mildew. My conference was well worth it though!

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

I rented a car for $82 for three days. Self parking is free at the Villas and hotel. The hotel shuttle costs $60 each way and some reported a $100 car fare for the 35 mile trip from JAX to the property. Quite a savings!

Beautiful resort.

First off, this place is amazing, the pool and the beach area is perfect. However, a little over priced. $330 w tax for a Sunday night is a little too much. Almost all of the staff was great. The bartender at the pool was great and his drinks were awesome...they should be $19 a piece for a vodka cranberry and a whisky ginger? I know its a resort but ouch. Other than that there were 2 things that really upset me. 1. the person on the phone and the guy delivering the room service were rude. 2. the service when I checked out was horrible. Its sad that 3 people ruined it for the rest of the staff that gave superior customer service.
