So comfortable and accommodating!
Just got back from a trip to Delaware to apartment hunt for our son, and had a wonderful stay at the Residence Inn. First of all, it doesn't look like a typical hotel at all - the rooms are more like individual townhomes, in numerous 2-story buildings clustered around the reception desk (which they call the Gate House). Each room has its own exterior entrance. We were lucky to have our room right across from the Gate House, which provided easy access for the Manager's Reception in the afternoon (snacks, appetizers, sandwiches, beer, wine, pop, etc) and the incredible free breakfast the next morning (hot waffles and egg/cheddar/ham muffin sandwiches!). Probably the best breakfast we've ever had at a hotel. The staff at the front desk was so friendly and accommodating. One gal even encouraged us to look at her apartment complex for our son - gave us directions to it. Our room was so comfortable and spacious - there was even a fireplace. 2 flatscreen TV's, very comfortable beds, full kitchen - it was just perfect. The hotel is located on a road alongside several other hotels, right off the interstate, so easily accessible.

Very family and business friendly
Our stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Wilmington was very enjoyable. We felt as if we were in our own apartment. When we told the front desk that children were running around in the room above us, they upgraded our room to a two-room suite! Hotel staff were friendly, helpful and accomodating. The breakfast buffet was a nice treat too. It would be nice if in-room movies, games or a DVD player were available.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
Since the University of Delaware is nearby, there are many restaurants to choose from.
