Pretty grim
The location in Dupont circle is nice but the hotel itself was pretty nasty, but when you pay cheap you get cheap. "Water was not available for purchase anywhere in the hotel, just soda" (when I went downstairs at 5am with a parched throat). The city was booked out for a conference, hence why I had to stay here, thank God it was for only one night.

Fine. Functional.
We stayed at the Windsor Park because the price and location were terrific. It's nestled between Dupont Circle and the Woodley Park Metro stops and is walking distance to both and to Adams Morgan. The pros: The location is great. The room was clean, the service pleasant, and the beds comfortable. Our room had plenty of closet space, surfaces, and outlets. The rooms include free wi-fi. The cons: It feels a bit low budget (which it was-- less than $100 per night). Beds in the standard rooms are doubles, not queens. The amenities are very basic (e.g., yes hair dryer and iron in room, no conditioner or lotion; yes continental breakfast, no real milk but powdered "creamer" for coffee). The rooms are not very modern and could use a decorator's touch. The daybed in our suite squeaked to the point that it would be difficult to sleep on it if you tossed and turned. The wi-fi reception was a bit spotty. They don't have a parking lot. All in all, the Windsor Park is fine for traveling with a family of 4 for a few days to a week. A nice plus was that when we arrived we were upgraded for free from a room with two doubles to a suite -- a bedroom with two doubles and a main room with the TV, fridge, desk, and a daybed. On-street parking was tough on weekdays but great on the weekend. On the one weeknight we were there we parked for $28 in the Hilton's garage, a few blocks away. All things considered, we'd stay at the Windsor Park again.

A wide variety of dining options are within walking distance. Meals can be had in Adams Morgan (down Kalorama Road about 3 long blocks) or across the Connecticut Ave. bridge near the Woodley Park metro stop (1 long block).

Meh.
Kind of creepy at first, but then I got used to it and wasn't so scared. They lost our reservation a few days away from when we left, however we called both the hotel and [...] and the reservation was newly restored. I also requested 2 beds numerous times, but when we got there they said that we had only one bed. However, they made this up to us by giving us a suite at no extra charge :) Also, the door to our bedroom would not close by a few feet because one of the beds was in the way- which was kind of strange and awkward since I like to sleep with the door closed!

Short walk from hotel
We went for CPAC! (Conservative Political Action Conference) and the location was GREAT. It was maybe a short 5 minute walk across the bridge to the hotel that the event was at. If they hold CPAC at the same place next year, this hotel was a great place to stay! Also the Indian Restaurant nearby was delicious!

A good place while at All-day Meetings
Our 1st time in DC, and a weekend Conference. We did a LOT of sightseeing so weren't in our rooms much. It is an old, period building converted to a hotel, so the rooms and halls are narrow. It is, however, in great shape. Everything works (haven't said this even about new properties) the floors don't creak, and even tho they were full, I never heard anyone outside the breakfast area. The property is shielded from main road noise by one other building, so we slept with the windows open - really quiet. Try that with any major chain unit - they're either by a hiway or other busy road, or the windows don't open at all. Nearby eats are minimal, esp for breakfast, but great places are only a few blocks away. Walking was pleasant. most people are jogging and considerate of peds. I was never approached by anyone - unheard of even in my town. Most responded to my "Hi." Safest place I've walked in a long time.

Short walk from hotel
If you are looking for diverse ethnic dining, take a walk to the right then down the hill. There are several blocks of many small restaurants. Familiar names and "What kind of food do they have?" abound. On-street parking should be avoided (even if you find a spot, getting back out would be difficult due to heavy traffic.) I did not look for side street lots. Thursday night was packed but wate times were less than 15 minutes. Didn't get to checkout durring weekend as that was durring our Conference (at a diff location.)

Parking sucks
hotel was dated and there is no parking for hotel guest at all. Enbasys are on every street around and you are stuck with 2 hour parking and you will get a ticket. you have to move your car to another street not just another spot. DC makes there taxes with out of town tourist parking fines. Internet is free. Muffins and apple juice if free for breakfast.

Good location and ambience, great value
Came to DC for a conference and was traveling on a budget and was glad I found this place. Very nice location, walking distance to the conference site (the Marriott Wardman Park) and to the Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan areas, yet located in a very quiet, mostly residential area. (It's a 10-15 minute walk to either the Dupont Circle or the Woodley/Zoo/Adams Morgan stops on the Red Line.) Rooms were clean and well-appointed. Coffee and continental breakfast were much appreciated. The Wi-Fi was temperamental, but when that's the only negative thing you can come up with about a hotel stay, you've done well. All in all, this has to be one of the best values in DC. I'd definitely come back.

Not the Hilton - but clean / value
This is a simple clean place to stay - no fancy decoration. But the price was remarkable ($60). Dates out to future weeks were quite a bit higher. If you just need a clean roomy place to stay, this will be fine. As others have noted,, the bathrom is small (need to close the door to get full use of sink). But room I had was a mini suite with separate bedroom (queen) and living room with trundle bed (two twins), small TV, refrig, table, etc. If you require top decoration/style, this is not for you. But if you don't expect to spend a lot of time in the hotel (duh) this is a good bargain -- just no bragging rights!
