windsor park hotel
The hotel was decent. A little disappointing at fiest glance. kind of expected more from this old historic structure. key to mind renovation and modernize. the air conditionsing system was in need of upgrade.and the overall decor of the room seemed morbid and plain to my taste. location was decent, light walk to zoo and metro. easy to navigate downtown. Overall I had a mediocre experience. I guess you get what you pay for attempting to be conservative in the inner city. Would not stay again.

Reasonable Basic Accomodation
This hotel is a short walk from the Zoo Metro stop. Our room was old and paint encrusted, but clean and functional. The free Wi-fi worked fine, but the included breakfast consisted of only coffee, tea, and pastries. This hotel is not a vacation destination. It is a reasonably priced Hotel in an expensive market and is a safe walk from the Metro. We'd stay there again.

Great Value!
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I was there for work, and it was the perfect location to get around all DC. There were several great spots for dinner and drinks which was nice after long work days! The rooms were a little dated, but the cleanliness and free internet access, convenience and price made my stay completely enjoyable!

Clean and great location
This hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from the Morgan/Adams metro stop. Neighborhood is very safe feel even walking back to hotel at 11:30 pm. One review said the hotel had a small European hotel feel and I would agree. Not a lot of ambiance, but great place to sleep very quiet location.

disappointed
traveled to DC for a couple of college visits. Good location, close to metro stop near the zoo. Our room was warm, 80 or so no matter what we tried. Hallway smelled musty. Sink didn't drain. No paper as promised. Breakfast was coffee juice and a muffin or bagel. Old hotel, floors squeak and bathrooms very small. One very small and very slow elevator. Free wi-fi worked

Adequate but plumbing not so much
Location was great. Far from the Mall and other sites but nice area. There was a bus stop across the street and cabs were easy to hail. It was right near a neighborhood called Adams-Morgan which had interesting and ethnic restaurants. We enjoyed walking around the area. Front desk people were very helpful and pleasant when we needed information about getting around. The rooms were adequate. The beds were comfy and clean. The continental breakfast was a nice plus. Clearly, employees were working hard to keep on top of things. The biggest problem was the plumbing. The toilets made us nervous (we had 2 rooms). On our third night the toilet in my room became non-functional. I called the desk and was told there was no plumber that day and no other rooms to move us to. I was given a plunger and I tried to get things moving with no success. Fortunately, we had the 2 rooms and we just used the other bathroom. The sink in the second room had a permanent drip. Would we stay there again? For our budget and needs we would. Our only concern would be the plumbing and since we have stayed there I think we would call and tell them about our concerns.

Adams-Morgan neighborhood was about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. Great variety from family dining to clubs. Even a small supermarket and natural foods market to buy some snacks to keep in the little fridge in the room.

Terrible
This hotel was terrible, the only plus was the location. Parking was an additional $40 a day, the room was small with only a bed and desk in it. We were suppose to stay for 4 nights and canceled the rest of our nights after the first one, which the hotel is refusing to refund us for even though we were within the time allowed. Room was dirty and smelled old. This hotel is in much need of repair. The elavator only held 2 people, and breakfast was a joke. (wrapped stale pastery).

Nothing to write home about
It was an old hotel. It was clean and somewhat comfortable. Old style furnishings. Good room for the money...all we did was sleep there. Good location for where we wanted to be. All the staff were helpful, courteous and pleasant. Probably won't stay there again.
