- The keynote of the international is the feeling of grown-up glamour and sophistication that reigned throughout the Kennedy years - the golden age of All-American-Style; full of promise and ambition. This is not Austin Powers or Warhol Pop. Think Babe Paley; think dressed up, crisp clothed jet-setters and kings of commerce enjoying a classic champagne cocktail, nibbling an elegant snack, while engaging in intense flirtation and conversation into the wee hours - after all one can always stay over.
- No. 10 Thomas
- No. 10 Thomas offers Contemporary American cuisine and the perfect ambience for any meal. Watch the "Early birds" at Logan Circle in the morning, sunbathers taking a dip in our pool after lunch, or the sunset over National City Christian Church in the evening. Sip a Glass of Champagne or enjoy a cocktail by candle light on our Poolside terrace and make a wish while counting the shooting stars over Washington D.C.

Great value for the location
The Washington Plaza is very centrally located and though the building is a bit older it is very well maintained and the rooms are spacious and clean. The pool and outdoor lounge area looked like it would be quite pleasant in season.

Dining tip:
Long walk from hotel
Walking up Massachusetts Avenue in front of the hotel towards the higher numbered streets will bring you to the Dupont area and then a further walk up Connecticut from the Dupont circle will also bring you to the Adams Morgan neighborhood. Both Dupont and Addams Morgan have an interesting mix of shops and various ethnic restaurants etc.

My review of Washington Plaza Hotel
The hotel had a very nice lobby area as well as an outdoor pool with plenty of table and chairs around. The staff was quite friendly. Our car broke down while on our trip, and the staff quickly got us help to fix the situation. There were a few nice places in the area to get a refreshment and we were fairly close to the metro to see the sights.

My review of Washington Plaza Hotel
I was impressed with this very well-kept property and its courteous staff. Especially impressive was the deck-chair-lined outdoor pool with pool-side bar. Rooms were clean and comfortable. And the price was right. My only regret was that it wasn't located closer to the Metro rail. After full days at the Mall in 90-degree heat, it was a long, agonizing walk from the Metro to the hotel. Not much in the area for dining choices either.

Nice place to stay with kids
The washington Plaza hotel workd out great for my three kids and I. we were able to walk to the mall (about 10 minutes) and the 4th of July fireworks were great. The pool was extra nice, especially the lounge chairs and pillows! I've never been to a hotel pool with more comfortable lounge chairs and pillows to boot. I could have read and relaxed all day! The only negative was the elevators were being worked on, so there was abit of a wait for the 2 that were working.Plenty of good restauraunts around...again all in walking distance. I would highly recommend it for the price.

Superior Service
The Washington Plaza Hotel is an excellent property. I have had the opportunity to stay with them twice this year. Front desk clerk, was both helpful and pleasant, in accomodating room change requests and reservation extensions. The pool and restaurant staff, are also the most friendly and sincere I've expereinced in travels. If in the area again I will plan on returning to the Washington Plaza... preferrably room 426.

WONDERFUL WEEKEND
The location was easily located by car, and then close to the metro for sightseeing. The staff was wonderful and very professional. On a previous trip, I left a suit in the lobby while checking out and didnt realize it until weeks later. I called the hotel, they had saved the suit, were very helpful, and mailed it back to me. I would reccomend this hotel.

Enjoyable visit
The Washington Plaza hotel was comfortable and the room was very nice. Large Bathroom area and nice walk-in closet for suitcases and hang-up clothing. The bathroom were dated but very clean and functional. The location of the hotel was okay. It's a nice hike to the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Nat'l Archives and Capital but closer to the White House. For oversized vehicles like Suburbans or Tahoe's the parking can be a little inconvenient due to a small area to be placed and they don't reserved this area for the larger vehicles. For example when you pull into the parking area smaller cars can park on both levels but larger cars only have about 35-45 parking spots and you have to exit through the entrance and run down a valet to open the gates. If a valet is not available the inside workers are no help. Your stuck. For what you use a hotel for in D.C. it is quite nice and you don't drive much anyway.

Outstanding Staff
This was my first stay at the Washington Plaza and I was finally meeting face-to-face with my Over-the-InterNet love. Obviously, I wanted the experience to be delightful for both of us, and the gracious and courteous staff of the hotel truly helped make our first few nights together a memorable experience. I had checked in early since my lady friend was arriving on an evening flight from Scotland. From my initial contact with the parking valet and doorman, through the registration staff (who, by the way, directed me to a fantastic florist for the necessary dozen roses), to all of the restaraunt staff, the service was impecable. I had lived in the Washington, D.C. area many years ago and was frankly a little leery of the location of the hotel. To my amazement, the entire section of the city has undergone a marvelous (almost miraculous) transformation. What had been a blighted, downtrodden, high-crime area is now a place where anyone can feel comfortable strolling the surrounding streets. My Scottish lassie is now back in Glasgow. She, too, had nothing but compliments for the staff who made her feel warmly welcomed for her first Washington visit. I might add that she returned to Scotland with one more ring on her finger than she had when she arrived - we are now engaged and looking for a wedding in Glasgow sometime near Christmas.
