Dining

international lounge
The keynote of the international is the feeling of grown-up glamour and sophistication that reigned throughout the Kennedy years - the golden age of All-American-Style; full of promise and ambition. This is not Austin Powers or Warhol Pop. Think Babe Paley; think dressed up, crisp clothed jet-setters and kings of commerce enjoying a classic champagne cocktail, nibbling an elegant snack, while engaging in intense flirtation and conversation into the wee hours - after all one can always stay over.
No. 10 Thomas
No. 10 Thomas offers Contemporary American cuisine and the perfect ambience for any meal. Watch the "Early birds" at Logan Circle in the morning, sunbathers taking a dip in our pool after lunch, or the sunset over National City Christian Church in the evening. Sip a Glass of Champagne or enjoy a cocktail by candle light on our Poolside terrace and make a wish while counting the shooting stars over Washington D.C.

the bed was very comfortable to sleep in. it was nice to have a window that can open to let fresh air to come in. the restaurant on site had a good breakfast buffet (15 dollars). Free wifi, nice lobby, good location! The best was comfortable and brand-new bed for good night sleep.

Single traveller, pleasure

Third time visited Washington Plaza, literally no complaints, enjoyed everytime. Clean, comfortable, ten minute walk to nearest Metro, onsite restaurant, bit expensive, but quality and staff make up for the price. Would recommend Plaza to anyone planning to visit DC. Nearest Metro is McPhearson Sq,

Neither quiet nor safe

I chose the hotel for its convenience. Its good that I was only staying one night as the room was quite small and the carpet was dirty. At night it was quiet but the next morning noise from the mechanical equipment on the adjacent roof blasted into the room. It's a good thing I hadn't planned to sleep in. Warning: at some point during the day intruders entered my colleague's room at the hotel, used her bed, left the TV on, and stole her nightgown.

Great hotel for business stay

It is a great location for getting around the downtown area. Tha staff are very friendly and accommodating. The room was very nicely appointed, elegant but not showy. I would stay at the Washington Plaza any time I visit the city.

great place if you get a deal.

this place is fantastic - great 70s style decor, nice (smallish, but I don't care) rooms and a stylish ambiance. Excellent location for any visitor. Wouldn't pay the standard room price, but always first on my list when looking for deals.

Friendly staff, small space

Recently renovated, the hotel is comfortable, compactly organized, and sparkly clean. Staff were friendly when we called in to say we were running late (in a snow storm in October!) and even more friendly when we arrived. Only glitch was that the two connecting rooms they said we had when we called in had turned into two contiguous but NOT connecting rooms by the time we arrived. No extra space in these rooms, but very well designed. Not delighted to be charged more for a room with two doubles than the room with one bed--I've never before stayed in a place that did that. Parking at $26-31 per night seems high to me--and wasn't mentioned in the Orbitz write-up, which would have been helpful. Did I just miss it? Overall my first time at this hotel, and my first time using Orbitz. Would repeat both again.

IF you don't need a second bed in the room, be SURE to book the one-bed option; the other costs more.

Friendly staff and great bargain

The staff is incredibly accomodating and location along with room was a very reasonable price. I have stayed at the so called reasonable hotels all over with status and I received the best treatment here with no status to wave. Also, free wifi for the price I paid for my stay- you can't beat that. Next time I come to DC- i will be sure to stay here again! Highly recommended.

Fantastic!!

Great location, walking distance to everything you would want to see also near metro stations in the event you don't want to walk so much. CVS pharmacy across the street in case you forget anything. Awesome Awesome Awesome food at the hotel if your tired from your day of sight seeing and don't want to go out. Great staff, housekeeping awesome. Can't think of anything negative to say at all. Didn't want to leave and come back home.

Vacation 2011

This is a great hotel. The entire waitstaff, housekeeping, frontdesk as well as the doormen were absolutely the freindliest. Eager to help you in any way, shape or form. I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends. It is off the beaten path a little but a great overall. Nothing a cab ride cannot fix after a LONG day of walking. The cabs are rather inexpensive too.

If at all possible stay in a hotel with a METRO under it are within a block. We stayed four LONG blocks from a Metro. Not very fun everyday having to walk that twice a day!
