Good quality facility, great DC location

If you want a quality hotel in a great DC location -- very close to White House, in area of shopping and restaurants -- this fits the bill. Would like a bit more choice re in-hotel dining but that was the only downside.

Trying too hard to be Luxury

My Son and I stayed here over a long weekend to see the sights on the National Mall. This is a great Hotel with a great location near everything. The Metro stop right outside the door makes an ideal choice just 5-7 blocks from the National Mall, and just 4 blocks from China Town with great places to eat. The room was basic, but nice. The conscierge was awesome. My single complaint, this is one of the hotels that wants to define itself as luxury by charging extra for everything. Nothing in the Hotel struck me as overly luxury except the prices. Particularly annoying was the pay to use Internet in the Business Center. I stayed at a Days Inn in Yankton, South Dakota, and they had computer with free internet available. I am always surprised and angered when an otherwise quality hotel wants to charge me for something like Internet service. I would also have appreciated a small continental breakfast provided by most hotels, but again, Marriot at Metro Station really wants to peel some more dollars out of you at every opportunity.

Good location, good pool and exercise facilities

We stayed there three nights on a sightseeing trip with my grandson and son-in-law. So a pool is almost a must with a 6-year old and it did not disappoint. The rooms were very clean and staff very friendly. Roughly 5 blocks to the National Mall, Metro stop on the same block, and close to Ford's Theater as well. Only negative was the $13/daily charge for in room internet. Free WiFi in lobby. I have a hard time understanding why there is often the extra charge at the higher priced hotels while internet is almost always free at the bargain hotels and motels.

The $14.50 daily all day Metro Pass is a little pricey but very convenient. In addition you will probably come out ahead if you are going to take four to five or more Metro trips in a day. Great, showcase mass transit system especially in flying into Reagan National or train to Union Station

great location for family

We had a whirlwind 2 1/2 days in DC. Metro was easy to use (after we figured it out the first time). Kids loved it (especially after a long day of walking). Capitol Bldg tour, Air & Space Museum, American History Museum, Natural History Museum, Washington Monument, etc. All within walking distance if you are used to walking but would also use the Metro. Hotel was clean, concierge was nice. Easy walking to restaurants.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

we took the grayline double decker bus to get our bearings around DC but it was HOT and traffic was very congested so the 2 1/2 hr trip turned into more like 4 hrs. We had to wait almost an hr to catch the bus which was supposed to go by the hotel every 20 minutes.

Washington One Day Trip

Very helpful and courteous staff, location was perfect for working in the downtown area and the hotel is located right at the Metro station which saved me lots of money since I didn't need to use a taxi to get back and forth to Regan National, just took the Metro.

Where was a hair dryer equipped?

It was certainly a 4-star hotel. Location is perfect. Room is clean. Unfortunately I could not find a hair dryer and it was somewhat a noisy floor during my last stay.

Great Time in Washington DC

The room was ready when we arrived at 12 pm. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful providing information regarding city tours, museums, and entertainment. We bought double Decker bus tour tickets at the hotel, and the bus stops right in front of the hotel. The concierge helped us with booking tickets to Shakespeare theatre and Woolly Mammoth Theatre. There are a lot of restaurants in the area where you can grab coffee, salads and sandwiches of all different price ranges. The Metro Stop is right next to the hotel. The hotel location is great. It is a 20 minute walk to the Smithsonian Museums, 10 minute walk to theaters and entertainment centers. A taxi ride to National Regan Airport is only 10 minutes.
