good facility, rude staffs
The hotel has an excellent location and the facility was kept clean. The area has good diversity of restaurants. The only negatives were the staffs; the guy in bell stand refused to give bag tag without tip. Excluding one bad staff, the hotel was very satisfactory.

Biggest Hotel in DC
The hotel sits at the top of a hill, so from the metro, it's a bit of a hike up to the top. The entrance from the metro elevator is less of a steep slope. If you take the escalator, the back entrance is directly across the pedestrian cross walk and up the hill marked 24th (note that since it's the back exit, it's not on Woodley and not marked well). The grounds are beautiful, the room was comfortable, and the staff helpful. The hotel was very nice, but for the largest hotel in DC (according to one of our cab drivers), it didn't have a hot tub. There is nothing we wanted more after a day of walking than to relax in a hot tub for a bit. This is a convention hotel, and a few hundred people arrived the day we left ā I'm just grateful they weren't there the entire time we were.

Short walk from hotel
We used the metro to get everywhere. Purchase the preloaded pass (you can set the amount you want to buy) and be sure to put the pass in the ticket booth for credit on the next one you purchase (if you run out). We spent about $20/pp for the entire 72 hour trip (cheaper than the $9/day pass).

Great location at a great price
The hotel was very clean and staff were all very helpful. It was a big hotel, but not TOO big to find things. The convenience was the BEST; just a few steps and you were at the Metro, which takes you anywhere you need to go in DC. You can take the Metro from the DC airport to the hotel so you never even need taxi or shuttle service. The pool was nice, but I was a bit surprised they didn't have more than one pool, seeing as though the hotel was the biggest in Washington. The fitness center was very spacious and fun. Also nice was the convenience to the zoo -- just a couple blocks walk, not too bad! There were plenty of places to eat within close walking distance, including McDonalds, Chipolte (THE BEST!), pizza places, supermarkets, Rite Aid drug store..... everything you need right there in one place. What a bargain!

Chipolte was the BEST restaurant for us within close walking distance. It fills you up for a decent price! The kids enjoyed McDonalds though, as always!

Beautiful location & access to Metro
We did the whole tourist thing. Twilight tours pick you up right in front of the door! Concierge was extremely helpful. National Zoo right down the street. Metro station conveniently down the street. Very safe neighborhood.

Not too bad
I got an amazing price on this hotel with a flight and hotel package. The hotel is ok, nothing too fancy but definitely not a dump. Clean, friendly and the hotel restaurant is decent. My only complaint is that since it is a conference hotel there is a fair number of people that were loud in the hallways at night :)

Fabulous hotel
It was a fabulous hotel, however we told them that we would be traveling with three adults and they put us in a king room, which meant they gave us a rollaway. Our daughter was less then thrilled. But otherwise it was fabulous. It is a lovely hote. and conviently located near a metro station.

AWESOME!
The metro is within steps of the hotel; the buffet breakfast was included in our rate and was fabulous for two teenagers! There is never enough room for a family of four (2 adults/ 2teens) but for our 2 night stay, there was adequate room for our brief time in the room. The location enabled us to hop on and off the metro for a full schedule of events in DC!

Try Murphy's for a local dining establishment. The Irish Stew was amazing and the Ruben is to die for! Cold beer and nice atmosphere with live entertainment! Very reasonable prices! Also, make the journey to Old Ebbit's Grill~ a DC must visit! Again, GREAT food at GREAT prices!

Great location
The staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed having an "empty" refrigerator in my room, instead of a refrigerator pre-filled with expensive snacks. This hotel is conveniently located very close to a Metro stop, numerous restaurants, a drugstore, and a small grocery store.
