Poor management
It took them an hour and four phone calls to [...] to find our reservation. Then at 3:00 AM someone opened our door with a key card and just walked in!

Great Location, Average Stay, Not great staff
Stayed here for a conference on site. First room we got smelled of smoke even though the hotel has a no-smoking policy. The front desk staff were quick to change this for us. Rooms were spacious. Our comforters had some stains on it though. No free wifi in the rooms. Seems like something that every hotel should have nowadays. Bar staff made an inappropriate comment that detracted us from going back to the bar the second night. Overall, great location but would probably pick a different hotel the next time we're in the area.

Parlour Room is not a room but a sofa on
Room listed was very misleading - instead of a room + parlour with sofa bed it was ONLY a sofa bed. Internet access available $9.99 per day and ONLY wireless. NO pool or hot tub available for tired feet. Location ok, especially with Billy Goat Tavern across the street for food and drinks.

Convenient and good value
Very convenient to Union Square and room was very spacious and modern. Downside was some mildew in the tub, which detracted from the overall very clean room, $9.99 Internet charge, and some street noise/sirens, which didn't bother me, but might bother light sleepers and country-folk who aren't used to it. Front desk staff ladies could use some customer service training. Didn't seem empowered to help with anything. Concierge and door staff were very professional. Overall, a great value for DC.

Washington Court Hotel
The hotel itself was okay -- good price, rooms were good, it was within walking distance of Union Station and a few restaurants. However, the biggest turnoff and the reason I will not stay at this hotel for my next trip to DC is the fact that it is located around the corner from a homeless shelter. As my husband and I were walking back to the hotel a few times, during day and night, I felt almost paranoid and almost unsafe with the people milling around the shelter.

Nice facility with inconsistent service
This is an attractive hotel that offers nice rooms at a very reasonable price. Close to Union Station and the Capitol. A number of nice restaurants within walking distance. The service leaves much to be desired, however. Not enough staff. This must be how they keep the prices so reasonable.

Beware the hotel version of baggage fees
Stayed here in early December for 3 nights. Very convenient for business on Capitol Hill. Room was large and clean. Free coffee in the morning outside the restaurant. Breakfast buffet was a bit pricey, $18. However, my gripe is about the internet and business center fees. $10/day for internet if you have your own laptop -- $1 PER MINUTE in the business center, $10 minimum. And, because I forgot to change the copier from color to b&w, I wound up paying 75 cents per page for copies. I know these Capitol Hill hotels cater to business travelers with expense accounts, but really - a dollar a minute for internet access??? It's the hotel version of airline baggage fees.

The restaurant around the corner at the Phoenix Park Hotel is a good place for a reasonably priced meal. Art & Soul next door in the Liaison Hotel is also good, albeit more expensive.
