amazing location

The very first thing I noticed but Washington Court, being my first experience with a hotel of this caliber, they couldn't do enough to be helpful. I arrived on my pride and joy Harley, they made sure my bike was safe and secure. The second thing I noticed, they inquired the reason for my visit. They anticipated that I needed to visit the Concert that evening and I'm gratful. I will be back to DC and will return to Washington Court. The combination was memorable and worth repeating. Mike

I could see the Capitol from my room

I have visited Washington many times. This is the largest hotel room I have ever stayed in in DC. Also one of the most comfortable. I was asked at registration whether I would like a room on a lower floor or an upper floor--a nice gesture. I asked for a room as high up as available and got a room on the top floor with a beautiful view of the Capitol. The very attractive entrance and lobby inspired in me high expectations of my stay--which were met. The staff was very professional. Union Station is a short (five to ten minutes) walk away and well worth visiting. I was so enchanted with my stay that i almost phoned my wife (who was working) and told her to call in sick and come on down to DC and join me.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

At Union Station, one can sign up for a bus tour of DC and get on and off the bus at each sight (buses run every 20 minutes). It's 2 and a half hours if you don't get off anywhere.

Very nice hotel.

The hotel was safe, clean and inexpensive (since I stayed in Washington during August, which is when the hotel rates in the city drop). The aforementioned factors are all that I care about when it comes to a hotel. However, for those of you who prefer more amenities, the room that I stayed in was very large and the marble bathroom was very impressive. So the hotel was quite nice.

Shopping tip: Long walk from hotel

For the rare person who is interested in science. Reiters (sp?), located in the vicinity of 20th and K streets is an excellent bookstore that specializes in science books. It also has a fine selection of economics books (which, of course, hardly qualifies as a science:)).

Great Weekend Hotel

This hotel was pretty top notch for the price I paid for it. I booked it as part of a vacation package and didn't regret it one bit. Great location about 4 blocks from the Capitol building and 2 blocks from Union Station. The rooms were large and the bathrooms were incredibly nice. The beds were some of the most comfortable I've slept in. The nearest Metro stop was at Union Station so it was a great base for exploring the city.

If you don't want to pay for breakfast at the hotel, there are plenty of breakfast spots in Union Station to grab a bite to eat. Walk 2 blocks up the hill and save a ton of money.
