Very convenient.

This hotel was very convenient to the Capitol Hill area and Union Station. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were there at a slow time of year and the bar and kitchen were closed. They were only serving a buffet breakfast that was not wonderful.

Great location

The Washington Court Hotel has a great location allowing exploration of major sites in D.C. on foot. The hotel is very comfortable and the rooms are well maintained. The location that is so close to Union Station provides easy access to transportation, dining, shopping and tours. I would not stay anywhere else in D.C.

good value

We (my wife and I) enjoyed the Capitol Hill location of the Washington Court Hotel, and it is also close to Union Station. Very peasant stay because of a friendly staff, great restaurant, and nice bathrooms in the deluxe rooms. The beds were not up to the standards of the rest of the hotel. We enoyed our four day week-end stay in comfort and would return again.

Tours leaving from Union Station: DC Duck tour and Trolley tour, both great and good value for money paid. Union Staion offers a gigantic food court with inexpensive and good food of all types since there are no restaurants in the area of the hotel.

Excellent Staff

The Washington Court Hotel's staff was absolutely wonderful. They were helpful, attentive, kind and cared about your experience. Each time I walked into the hotel, I felt like I was being greeted by friends. They recalled where I was returning from and asked about my experience and if the directions they provided were suitable. Overall, the Washington Court Hotel provided me with a great experience for the duration of my short stay.

Great Value

The Washington Court was a great value, quite luxurious for the money. Enjoyed our stay, we traveled with a family of 6, hotel was well situated, walking distance to the Capital, National Mall, Smithsonian Museums, Washington Monument, etc. Rooms were clean and comfortable, the door staff was very knowledgeable, able to give directions to sites, dining suggestions, etc. Our only complaint was the restaurant, food was average at best, but there were a number of other decent options nearby. Ask for a room with a view to the exterior. Our room faced an interior atrium courtyard. Would highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel definitely needs a major makeover

The TV in our room is at least 10 years old. The signal disappeared for about 5 minutes every 10 minutes. When the signal was poor, all we could see on the TV was loud noisy flashing lines. There was also a very old fashion small bathroom TV/radio, but that one was just for the display. It never worked. The house keeper never refilled our coffee bag or tea bag. I had to call them twice to get my coffee/tea bags. We used the 2 paper cups in the room to cook some coffee on the first day of staying (we stayed for 3 nights), but the house keeper never gave us any new one after that. When I called the house keeper, they told us they ran out of paper cup. The assistance from concierge vary. They all were friendly. Most of them were helpful in a way, but the one we met on the second night gave us wrong information regarding the zoo, and did not know much about the alternative transportation option to the Dulles airport. I can see this hotel once was one of the good and even fancy hotels many many years ago near Capital Hill, but based on what I saw in our room and the service quality, it really needs some dramatic renovation. The location is excellent though. About 5 minutes walk to Union Station, and most major tourist attractions are not far away either. If you just want to have a convenient and clean place to sleep in the night, it should be okay. But if you want to feel the luxury of a 4 stars hotel, you will be very disappointed.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Union station has many choice for quick dinning, about 5 minutes walk. Two Irish bar/restaurants open till 12am just around the corner. We tried the bigger one. The food was great and the portion was huge. The hotel has several Chinese food take out menus at the front desk. It's the typical American Chinese food, but convenient and inexpensive.

Great Location/Helpful Staff

The Washington Court was a great location for seeing all spectacular sights. We could walk, catch the bus, and Union Station was just a couple of blocks away. Several restaurants were near the area ,and walking at night was comfortable. The staff was excellent, especially the gentlemen at the entrance.
