Nothing bad, nothing special

Visiting DC with the spouse for four nights (first time there), to see the most important sights and visit the museums. Arrived by train from NYC. Thus the hotel was ideally located: A short walk from Union Station, a short walk to the National Mall. Nothing worth complaining about, but nothing really special, unique or stylish either. We had a large room with a king size bed. The bathromm tub had the presumably typical US style of water flow and temperature controls that are kinda weird to us. A good quality largish flat screen TV, with HBO and Comedy Channel for instance. In a summary, a typical largish US hotel, not unlike other large chain hotels I've stayed in. (Although as such I think this hotel is not part of any large chain).

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The Union Station has a couple of restaurants and is easy to find if you arrive here with no local knowledge, hungry, and don't care for taking a taxi somewhere further.

Convenient and good value

Very convenient to Union Square and room was very spacious and modern. Downside was some mildew in the tub, which detracted from the overall very clean room, $9.99 Internet charge, and some street noise/sirens, which didn't bother me, but might bother light sleepers and country-folk who aren't used to it. Front desk staff ladies could use some customer service training. Didn't seem empowered to help with anything. Concierge and door staff were very professional. Overall, a great value for DC.

Affordable & Convenient Location

We had a wonderful "girl" trip with my 2 teen daughters. The hotel staff was great, location was wonderful and walked to most monuments & White House. We missed having a pool/jacuzzi, but the room made up for it.

"Awesome location for walking"

My family and I visted all the Historic sites in Washington D.C. The walk to the Smithsonian Institute took less then five minutes from the Washington Court Hotel. The Union Station which has several places to dine was right around the corner from the hotel. Its an awesome location and I recommend the Washington Court Hotel to anyone visting D.C.

High expectations, a little let down.

This hotel, for being what is described as a "premier 4-star luxury hotel," is quite a let down. I booked this hotel, seeing its description, and figured it was perfect for a romantic weekend getaway for me and my significant other. I was slightly mistaken. If you get nothing else out of this review, please note this... Do not get there before the 4pm check-in. You will not be helped. Or perhaps you will be rudely turned away. In either situation it is not pleasant. The registration staff is impolite and far from accommodating. The best part about this stay were the doormen. They seemed like I could ask them anything about the city they would know just where it was. They were extremely helpful and with out a doubt the most enjoyable thing about this hotel. The rooms were small, but the bathroom was massive, taking up 1/2 of the rooms space. Amenities included the basics (shampoo, soap, coffee maker, etc.). One thing that was good is their location. It's 2 blocks from Union Station and 3 from the Capitol. Everything you could need or want to go see is within walking distance / a short metro ride. All in all, I would only recommend it to those on business trips. It really didn't live up to its description.

Great location and very responsive staff

We drove up no problem on a Friday and found a metered spot directly in front for parking. Fed the meter for about four hours while we rested and then parking was free until we left Sunday afternoon. Very clean and the staff was very helpful. There is a nice bar and restaurant located in the hotel and other restaurants (as well as a Starbucks)directly across the street. Our first room was courtyard side and very quiet, but the AC was not working properly so within five minutes they had us moving up to the 12th floor. The room was equally clean and comfortable (great pillows)however, this room was streetside and very noisy at night, but the AC was very nice! The location was a five minute walk to Grand Central Station on the metro where there is more shopping and eating...metro very easy to use and safe. Would totally recommend this hotel. We also saw the Hotel Pheonix and that looked good right across from the train station. Happy travels to you!
