Great location

Great hotel! With in five minute walk to union station metro stop and ten minute walk to the steps of the Capitol. The room was very clean and accommodating. Would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in d.c. at a reasonable price.

Great Experience in DC!

First time travel to DC for a business trip on day one; personal getaway on day two. What a WONDERFUL experience! 1) As a Chicagoan, DC is quite impressive and vibrant with plenty to do. 2) The Washington Court Hotel, located in the business district near Capitol Hill, was a hop, skip and a jump from local dining (e.g., Starbucks, Billy Goat Tavern, a cool little deli + liquor store), 3 minutes from a live downtown and 15 minutes drive from the Georgetown party scene district. 3) Every member of the Washington Court Hotel, from the bell hops to the service desk attendents, were absolutely, positively friendly and professional. 4) Beautiful room, great views, great price. 5) DC has more to see than you can possibly do in one day...good luck trying to pack it all in...you will not possibly be bored. You know it's a great experience when you and your spouse are compelled to say, "let's bring the kids next time."

nice

We booked the ticket well in advance and got a room on the last floor which was unfair considering the hotel had a low occupancy at that time, plus the heater was not w0rking, seeing as though we were on the very last floor it was very cold. And the lady who comes around to make sure you check out on time came at my mother with an attitude and on top of that she came to us on a day far from when we were suppose to check out.

Nothing to write home about

The hotel itself was nice but there were a few things that I didn't like. The parking situation was ridiculous! To park with the hotel was $43 per day, the garages in the area were $40 or more for overnight. There is street parking in front of the hotel but be prepared to wake up at 6:30 am to put $10 worth of change (which only covers about 3hrs) in the meter to avoid getting one or more $25 parking tickets. The other thing I didn't like was the fact that there was no microwave available for guest use, though the bartender was nice enough to go to the back and heat our food once. On a positive note the staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean and spacious and the bed was comfortable. The location of the hotel was a good and convenient one, especially if you want be in the downtown area. Overall, I would not stay here again only because I feel like I could receive the same for a least expensive amount.

Great Location - Great Place to Stay

Took my son to DC for his 18th birthday. Hotel is only 2 short blocks from Union Station (Metro Red Line, dining, shopping, food court). We used the Metro for our entire 4-days so easily able to go quickly back to hotel to rest before dinner. Would have been great for room to have refrigerator but otherwise coffee maker was perfect! Would definitely stay there again!

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you are going to use the Metro a lot, then purchase a 7-day pass ($43) which allows you unlimited use of the Metro. Also, there is a 24-hour CVS Drugstore a few short blocks from hotel so you can get snacks, medicine, etc. if needed.

Parking charges are exorbitant

The hotel was quite good but i was amazed at the parking fees. The total parking fees i paid almost equal to the hotel booking fees and this was never conveyed to me during the booking by [...] or by the hotel folks. Moreover the bathroom wasn't so clean and there were bits of paper on the floor. Only good thing about the hotel was the proximity to the Capitol hill.
