Great Location - Great Place to Stay

Took my son to DC for his 18th birthday. Hotel is only 2 short blocks from Union Station (Metro Red Line, dining, shopping, food court). We used the Metro for our entire 4-days so easily able to go quickly back to hotel to rest before dinner. Would have been great for room to have refrigerator but otherwise coffee maker was perfect! Would definitely stay there again!

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

If you are going to use the Metro a lot, then purchase a 7-day pass ($43) which allows you unlimited use of the Metro. Also, there is a 24-hour CVS Drugstore a few short blocks from hotel so you can get snacks, medicine, etc. if needed.

Parking charges are exorbitant

The hotel was quite good but i was amazed at the parking fees. The total parking fees i paid almost equal to the hotel booking fees and this was never conveyed to me during the booking by [...] or by the hotel folks. Moreover the bathroom wasn't so clean and there were bits of paper on the floor. Only good thing about the hotel was the proximity to the Capitol hill.

Yes it was nice, but...

The location of this hotel is nice when visiting the Capitol. It is a bit of a walk to the museums on the mall, remember it is 2 miles to the Lincoln Mem. from where the hotel is located. There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room and our coffee maker was a single cup type with paper cup, not what I would consider for a 4 start hotel.

Great facilities, mediocre service

The hotel is perfectly located (10 min. walk to the Capitol building) and beautiful but the service was not great. When we checked in, no rooms were available until 4 pm because they weren't clean. The person who checked us in put our credit card under somebody else's name and then lost our reservation. We didn't get a room until 5pm. The restaurant is very nice but the service is slow there and in the bar as well. I think they are very understaffed.

Great Hotel

We attended the John Stewart rally and as promised our hotel was only two blocks from the mall and two blocks from Union Station. When you walked out our door the Capitol was a perfect picture at the end of the hallway. The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean and nice. I would definitely book this hotel again.

Dissatisfied

The hotel was Not as advertised! There are no smoking rooms...not even "on request" like their website proclaimed. There was also Not "oversized marble bath, comfortable working are or a small sitting area with lounge chair and ottoman." Our room; in fact, had one office chair and that was all. Also, internet access is available, but only for a price. In addition, the hotel advertised, "unwind with a refreshing beverage, a fine cigar, a game of billards..." Unfortunatly, the billards table was a disaster and there was no place to purchase or enjoy a fine cigar. Unless you felt like sitting outside on a bench. Finally, reserving a room in advance means nothing. You will be put in whatever space is available. We reserved a King room, but were not given a king room. When we informed the desk of the problem, no action was taken. The Only good things we can share is that the door men where very nice, and the hotel was close to the things we wanted to see while visiting DC.

Washington Court Hotel

We loved this hotel. The old world grandeur, the staff, the proximity to Union Station....we were able to walk to most attractions and take the metro from nearby Union Station for those which were not in walking distance. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We will stay here when we return to DC.

Great Location

This hotel is located within 2 blocks from Union Station. We loved the location and the staff was very helpful. Traveling with 2 kids a pool would have been a plus. Also breakfast included would have been nice. However, we requested a refrigerator in our room which was nice.
