Family DC Trip

Loved the front desk personnel, friendly, warm, and welcoming. Doormen, housekeepers, and restaurant staff were also great. Rooms were clean and comfortable, may need some fresh paint, but all in all very good. Located on a quiet street in Foggy Bottom very close to metro and restaurants in both Foggy Bottom and Georgetown. Worked well for our diverse group of travelers.

Good Value

Watch out for the unadvertised parking fee which seemed to be quite steep. Off street parking was virtually non existent or came with stiff conditions, giving the sense of being trapped into the high cost parking. Nice to have a restuarant on site that also offered room service. The room was generous in size and kitchen was well appointed.

Cozy Washington Inn

This hotel is well situated near the Kennedy Center of the Performing Arts, with a complimentary shuttle service there from the nearby GW University Hospital next to the Foggy Bottom Metro Stop. It's a nice quiet neighborhood (at least on Thanksgiving week-end when I stayed there) and the staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was also excellent with delicious offerings (though the entrees were stronger than the appetizers) and a nice wine list. Great to have the kitchenette suite for in room breakfasts with fresh coffee beans and grinder provided; good grocery stores nearby.

Great location/Great staff

I usually don't write reviews, but we especially enjoyed our stay at the River Inn. The location in Foggy bottom was great; within walking distance to Georgetown and the Monuments. The hotel is only a few blocks from the Metro. The kitchen was a plus, but we ate all of our meals at the nearby restaurants. The staff was very friendly and helpful!

Overall, very impressed. We enjoyed our two night stay. Easy access to the Metro. Parking pretty steep at over $40 a night with tax.

Great over night stay

We stayed here for one night while we were moving our daughter home from her internship in DC. The staff was especially friendly. They greeted us at the door, and made our stay wonderful. The room and was clean and spacious, and the hotel is within walking distance of some wonderful restaurants and attractions.

family vacation to DC

Got a great deal on hotel. Upgraded to 2 queen beds /suite since all rooms were full. The beds were comfortable and clean. Kitchette was great for simple brkfast and dinners occasionally. The coffee bean/grinder for morning coffee was excellent!! However, the microwave was weak, one stove range did not work and the garbage disposal leaked. Minor inconvenience. More major thing for me is the sofa which is fairly worn down-- got bitten everytime I sat on it.! The other thing is the kitchen floor was kinda dirty and sticky. Maid never mopped it during my 8 day stay. Despite of the above, had a great time in D.C. with hotel in a very safe area near University having Metro 2 blks away and grocery store 1+ blk away. Would stay there again if I get the same deal as this time.
