Quick D.C. visit
The staff at the Normandy could not have been more helpful. We left our bags with the desk when we arrived early at 9:30 AM and did the same at check out as we needed a place to store suitcases for our late flight out. That day the stormy weather deterred my husband from sightseeing. He spent a good part of the day in the comfortable lobby where staff doted on him.

Short walk from hotel
Dupont Circle is about 10 blocks, within walking distance. There is a hill when returning to the hotel, but the bus stops about 2 blocks away from the hotel. Also, the metro is located at Dupont Circle, so it is convenient and inexpensive to go and visit the sites of DC.

Excellent
Great hotel. Boutique experience at reasonable rates. Very kind, helpful staff. Room was on the small side, but very nicely decorated, very clean, very romantic. Central location, very convenient to most of DC, yet on a beautiful, quiet block.

Nice cute and clean hotel
The hotel itself does not have many outdoor amenities but it is very nice. There is no parking space, which is a common problem in DC and there was no free breakfast. Me and my husband went there on what was supposed to be a business trip but, we took advantage to visit as tourists as well. We rented a car but there's no need to rent a car. Everything is walking distance.

Great deal hidden in plain sight!
The room was as small as others described, but it was wonderful anyways! Every comfort we could ask for was there - down to the espresso machine in room. The location was ideal - a quick walk between two red line metro stops, with dozens of great dining options close by. The staff was wonderful and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The hotel was clean, quite and convenient... An incredible deal for a fabulous hotel!

family trip
The hotel was in a great neighborhood, near the foreign embassy housing and close to two metro stations. Lot of restaurants within walking distance and near Dupont Circle. It was a safe place and the hotel staff were very helpful. The atmosphere of the hotel was cozy and home like. Would highly recommend and would stay there again.

Outstanding atmosphere
Hotel was elegant and comfortable. Little Touches like complimentary wine and cheese cocktail hour, refrigerator in the room, and attention to details made stay with family very pleasant. Room a bit small, but price, location, and overall feel mean we will stay here again in a heartbeat. They seem to really have their act together.

Review of Normandy Hotel
Hotel staff were generally nice. The room was VERY small, and the hotel claimed it did not have our reservation we had made through [...]. The [...]deal implied that the breakfast was included, but it was NOT and it was expensive for the minimal amount of food that was available (packaged cereals, some fruit, orange juice, coffee, croisants.

Great stay at the Normandy
We came to Washington DC to see the sights with our kids. We stayed at the Normandy for 2 nights with only one full day to see the sights. Although the Normandy is not walking distance to the Mall (with kids), it's in a great neighborhood within walking distance to cafes (Filter has great coffee) and restaurants. The metro is a short walk. We took a cab to the Lincoln Memorial and then spent the entire day walking DC and going to museums. The hotel was very cozy, and had wine with cheese, crackers and cookies in the late afternoon, early evening. Books and chess were available. The staff was very friendly. We did not take advantage of the continental breakfast, which seemed a bit pricey. The rooms were small, but very nice, and we didn't spend much time in our rooms, so they were fine. The bathroom was great. I would return to the Normandy again!

Thaiphoon had good food, which was a short walk. Teaissmo has homey breakfast and good tea! Both are a short walk from the hotel.
