Traditional style blended with modern twists and Bistro Bis
The Hotel George, built in the boom era of 1928, shares a similar background to several other Washington D.C. luxury hotels. As such, the Hotel George embodies classic style, in keeping with the prestigious surrounds of its Capitol Hill location. The atmosphere is chic and modern. Guests get a fully comprehensive luxury experience, and can sample some of Capitol Hill's finest dining at the affiliate restaurant Bistro Bis, offering the highest quality French cuisine with the convenience of onsite dining. Pets are welcome, a relatively unusual feature and a very welcome addition for more local travelers.

Excellent stay
We found everything in very good condition. I have never stayed at a hotel before where every person we encountered on the staff was welcoming and excellent. It was an easy walk to Starbucks, the capitol, mall etc. If in the area, I would stay at The George again for sure. Thank you everyone for a great experience.

Great Location
Within walking distance to the train station and the Capital. Has a lovely restaurant accessable through the hotel. Felt safe and comfortable at The George!

Good Location and Price
What I liked most about this place was the fact that it was a short walk to the Union Station. Even with luggage going to and from the station was easy, and if the weather was bad the hotel room had an umbrella - so no problem! Getting to the Washington DC mall was easy too. The price was very good considering the location. I had an interior room which meant the only view was of the interior rooms on the other side, but that was not a problem for me. The clerk recommended an interior room because the exterior rooms were noisy. I have been in hotel rooms where street noise is a big problem so I took his recommendation and my room was very quiet.

Long walk from hotel
The Smithsonian Air and Space Museum is just less than a mile away. Of all the museums this is the one most attended and it gets crowded. Beat the crowd by leaving the hotel at 9:00 and walk there to be at the doors when they open at 10:00 AM. It is free to get inside.

My review of Hotel George - a Kimpton Hotel
Room was spacious and comfortable (mattress was wonderful!). Fitness room was small but excellent, each machine had a personal flat screen attached to it. Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again!

Very nice stay
Our stay was very nice at this hotel. Location was only a couple blocks from the Capitol and Union Station. The room was very nice and the staff was outstanding.

Excellent Accomodation
This hotel is very well situated; the staff is friendly and helpful; the dining room is outstanding; and the only mild dissatisfaction is that the room was very small.
