Worst hotel in dc
This place is a wreck. Tear it down. The firstt night I was in a room with a drain pipe and pump adjacent to the room. Then they moved me to a room with mildew and chipped paint on the ceiling. The whole place smelled like an old mildewed smoking hotel. Very disturbing as I needed rest on the short, important trip.

overbooked!
The hotel in itself is comfortable and has all standard amenities. The breakfast was OK but it would be nicer not to eat in paper plates and cups. The reason for this low rating is that the hotel overbooked and one of my colleagues had to be transferred to another hotel, when she arrived late at night. The reservation was paid in full so we found this really strange. At a minimum, the hotel could have had the courtesy to inform us in advance to avoid a detour and my colleague could have gone straight to the other hotel.

Horrible Experience
When we arrived, they had given away our room. they did confirm our reservation and confirmation number, but gave our room away anyway. after a long day of traveling, we were shuffled to another hotel. they told us we were responsible for the fees we would have paid if we had stayed there, and were told we should inconvenience ourselves further, by switching back to their hotel. this was not possible, as we were occupied with business meetings. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!

Good service, poor facility
Hotel room is relatively small and it is normal for old, well-established hotel in the city. Heating system broken in the middle of winter and I needed to switch room in mid-night; in a new room, toilet water kept running and needed maintenance, phone was turned off, so I needed to call front desk from my cell phone. Poor facility. Maintenance guy came soon and fixed the problem, nice guy at least.

Lackluster
The staff put a great face on this old relic, but the room was quite disappointing. The furniture was old, the television semi-functional, and the bed did not match the description. The vending machines did not have bottled water - despite 3 sections reserved for water - and the ice machine did not produce ice. All of that was frustrating, but the worst offense was the shower. There was no warm water at 8:30am. None.

Old HIlton that is in desparate need of a face lift
All said, it was a room and bathroom. Just basic needs and a decent price. The carpet felt nasty under my feet, so keep your socks on and the toilet knob would stick. The shower curtain was bent, etc.. The finishes are old. The Hotel could be great, but desparately needs updating.

It was okay, but....
The hotel is a short distance from quaint restaurants and convenient transportation. I visited the city on business, but passed by the National Aquarium, the White House, the Capital, and the National Mall.

Great location, fair price, quiet!
Good location. Quiet for the neighborhood...ask for the back of the hotel. Valet parking at $35 a rip off. Room service burger is good.

Great location, decent otherwise.
I really liked the location (right on Dupont Circle). The service was only okay, though people were generally nice to me at every turn. I was most frustrated with paying a slightly high rate for wireless internet service only to have it freeze, stop, or stream extremely slowly most of the night. My email would just timeout before it ever opened. One particular annoyance (probably just for my specfic room): because of the furniture placement, you couldn't really see the TV from either the desk or the bed. The in-room coffee was better than I expected, though.

If you like Thai food, then Thaiphoon (just up Connecticut Ave, and to the right on S Street) is fantastic. Otherwise numerous food options on Conecticut, or over on 17th Street.
