The Jurys is right on DuPont Circle and gives access to a thriving neighborhood of restaurants, shops and clubs. Much is within walkind distance in all directions, and the rest of Washington DC can be accessed by the Metro stop on the Circle.
The Jurys is an older hotel and has that charm. Views from the windows are very urban and always full of activities. This means the rooms are a little smaller, but they are clean and fairly comfortable, though an upgrade in furnishings will be needed soon. Housekeeping responds quickly to requests for towels and pillows and other needs. The room bar is well stocked and not overly expensive.
We were in DC over Thanksgiving to visit family and re-visit the art galleries. The Dupont Hotel is modern, tasteful, accomodating; the restaurant is excellent and the bar at night lively. Staff and service were very responsive.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Long walk from hotel
The Metro at Dupont Circle can get you to all the downtown attractions, and in nice weather, they are a pleasant 20 - 30 minute walk away.
My granddaughter and I felt safe out at night in this area. There were nice restaurants and shops close by and the Metro was only a short walk from the hotel making it very convenient to do any tourist attractions that interested us. The hotel
staff was efficient and friendly; my only complaint was that the carpeting looked like it was in need of replacing or at least all the carpeting needed cleaning. (My granddaughter witnessed the house cleaning staff rinsing the used coffee cups and glasses in the sink -- no soap -- and just drying with a cloth that she was unaware of the cleanliness; this was a little upsetting, but we made sure to wash any cups or glasses ourselves before using after that.) As i am not sure this would do the job. Not being a frequent traveler to the DC area, I am not sure of the cost of other hotels and found this to be a little pricey; however, we enjoyed our stay and would probably come back.
Jury's hotel in Washington D.C. had very elegant rooms. The pillows were feather, the bed was soft and comfortable. The bathroom was adequate. It's location was convenient because it was in downtown D.C. and restaurants, shops, and subways were
close. The room, however, was extremely small. There were no luggage racks so our suitcases sat on the floor. The temperature settings in our room did not work, the air conditioning would not shut off. The staff was very helpful and courteous.
Attended an awards Gala. Visited new Monuments and Museums such as "The Holocaust" museum and Korean War Memorial and of course the National Zoo! The hotel location was perfect. Close to the Metro, shopping, access to monuments, museums, and
food. Had a wonderful time! Breakfast at the hotel was healthy, with fast and courteous service.
Very nice updated decor. Restaurant was good, bar was incredibly busy/noisy but had quet space in back. Staff was very nice/helpful......asked the doorman about transport to Dulles the night before, and he had a Lincoln Town Car ready for me at
5:30 AM for $65, $5 more than the cab ride in cost me....great value, great service!
