Dingy, smelly

My hotel room was as small as a walk-in closet. It did not have ventilation and smelled of mildew. The wallpaper was peeling. The room next to mine was being painted. The whole place looked as if it was under construction. I asked one of the janitors and she said the place had been under construction for over a year. Aren't there regulations that require hotels to shut down for that kind of thing? The good thing about the hotel, though, is it's location. Can't complain about that at all!

Nothing special

The room in the pictures doesn't really show you how small the room I got was. The bed barely fit in the room. The headboard on the bed wasn't attached to the bed. They need to paint again and do a better job at least in room 307. The furniture was damaged missing one metal bar and the handle was hanging on by one screw. I couldn't get the wifi to work in the room, even though it gave an option for third floor connection. The bathroom was nice and in good shape. The parking really didn't exist, and then if you found a spot you have to leave early so your car doesn't get towed. None of the staff didn't mention anything about the parking issues or make sure I knew about the street parking. I didn't get a chance to eat their breakfast was the lobby area was clean looking.

Terrible Experience

This hotel was horrible and not worth $150 a night. It was not clean, had holes in the walls, and needed to be painted.

Great little hotel!

I was looking for a nice yet smaller and more affordable hotel with a great location near to D.C.'s main attractions and that's what I found with the District Hotel. Nice staff and comfortable atmosphere in an interesting old historic building. The only things not satisfactory is that I was placed in a room which was out of range for wi fi internet access and the hotel parking is very limited: only 4 or 5 places to park and it's first come - first serve so get there early before check in to get a spot!

For an affordable yet fancy and filling meal take a short walk to Estadio Restaurant, only 2 blocks away. Amazing wine selection.

great location

Just what we needed for a DC visit - close to the metro and walkable to the White House and beyond. Small room but we had a bathroom and a clean bed and that's all we needed after walking DC and seeing ALL the sights.

Good Location

The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is about a 5 minute walk to all the good restaurants and cafes. There are 2 metro stations near that area, as well as several bus stops even closer to the hotel. My rating is low because when I went there this time, the elevator was broken and I had to use the stairs to go to my room on the fourth floor. Other than that, the hotel is average; provides breakfast and cleanliness is average as well.
