Overall Experience

This is our second time staying at this hotel. Great location and best staff! Room accomodations was great. Room was clean and bellman was superb. Front desk staff was professional, courteous and accomodating especially Kacem and Adrianne. Kacem ckecked on us daily and made our visit even better. We will be back for Thanksgiving and will stay at this hotel.

Memorable visit

Churchill Hotel is a quaint, well preserved hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. The lobby is a perfect place to relax as is the restaurant area. Complimentary tickets to the Phillips Collection are a bonus! Would definitely stay here again. Leaving my room one morning with an empty water bottle, I was greeted by a chamber maid who offered me a fresh bottle when she noticed that mine was empty!

Great location not far from Dupont Circle

The hotel was clean and well-staffed plus in a lovely neighborhood. I took a walk in the evening up the street to a large park with great views and some historical aspects. Hotel was convenient if you need to be in the Dupont area.

King Bed Suite

Very spacious, comfortable, clean, quiet. Embassy Row - very nice area of D.C. Room service food was excellent. I did not check out the gym. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Grand Dame a Little Down at the Heels

A beautiful old building, fantastic location and spacious room were big pluses. On the negative side: the most recent renovation was sloppy and apparently long ago. My room had peeling wallpaper and scuffed bathroom tiles, as well as door hinges and hardware that had been painted over. Another off-putting note: a florescent-lit lobby that smelled consistently of fried food.

Overnight business trip

I've walked by the Churchill many times over the years, but never stayed there. With pretty much every other hotel in the district booked solid, I reserved a room. The hotel is fine; just fine. The rooms and the lobby need some updating, but it's the lay-out that takes some getting used to. The elevators are located off the lobby, around a blind corner, and down a very narrow (but short) hallway. The elevators are reminiscent of the 1970s. The "free" wifi is incredibly slow (even for downloading emails with attachments), as is the first level of upgrade ($5). I paid an additional $4 ($9 total) to get to a decent speed. If you can get a cheap rate and not looking for a romantic stay, the Churchill will be fine.

Great value!

We spent the weekend in one of the Churchill Hotel's king bed rooms. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The layout was somewhat odd (bathroom access is through the closet and the mini bar credenza was in a alcove that blocked it from the rest of the room) but it was still very functional. We were directly across from the elevator so I expected it to be a noisy room, but we honestly never heard a peep from the hallway or elevator. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit DC.

enhanced DC visit

The hotel itself has some quirks. For example some non-functional ice machines sent me on a floor to floor search for ice. But any issues I encountered did not sour the visit at all. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The room was clean and spacious. The location of the hotel is perfect for a family or couple. A 20 minute walk will get you to the National Zoo, National Mall & Monuments, and great dining. The area is very safe during the day and night.
