The State Plaza Hotel is situated on a leafy street just a short stroll from the Foggy Bottom Metro Station. Great Location
The Room was Huge. I was traveling along and I had 2 queen size beds, kitchen. Everything was large but the TV was the smallest and oldest TV I ever experienced in hotels or even motels. Hotel is located right downtown. Could not be better location. I was surprised to pay $30.00 for parking and pretty much did not have an option to park my car elsewhere for cheaper. Otherwise pretty good. Would recommend if you need to stay downtown and dont care that your quality.

Friendly staff and great location
The State Plaza Hotel had very large rooms with plenty of space for getting ready in the morning and relaxing at night. The hotel is located a few blocks from the National Mall and a short walk to a Metro. The location could not be better. I would recomend this hotel for those looking for a nice place to stay while sight seeing in the capital.

My husband and I were ...
My husband and I were very let down with the State Plaza. The hotel was run down. When we got to our room we found the toilet didn't work. We called the front desk and forty minutes later it was fixed. We had to park on the street because they charged 30 dollars to park in the garage, and the full kitchen didn't include a microwave. The one good thing about the trip was the food in the hotel. No room service, but it was very good. Even with the food, we would have been better off staying almost anywhere else.

Good holiday deal
Very affordable during the holiday (Thanksgiving). Somewhat disappointed to find that parking in the hotel garage cost about 1/3 of the price of the room (suite). Came back one day to find the room hadn't been made up. Front desk staff managed to deal with it. That was inventive, and appreciated.

Fantastic Hotel.
The State Plaza in Washington DC was a highlight of our trip tp DC. Very clean and very quaint. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely a great hotel to stay in while you are in the area.

Very comfortable!
The State Plaza Hotel in Washington, DC is a very comfortable hotel. It would be especially great for extended stays,since it is an all suite property.

Great Location
This hotel has two buildings connected by a walkway. Because I initially arrived at the hotel alone, I had to walk through one building; through an parking lot; and then through another building to reach my hotel room. I had to walk the reverse to leave out of the hotel. This is NOT safe for a woman. Be careful and ask the front desk to place you within the first building.

quaint, spacious and up-to-date
The State Plaza Hotel in DC was a delightful surprise. Our room was very spacious, with a kitchen and eating area; old style decorations and structure, like a dressing area with a vanity table and mirror, but with newer stuff like internet connection at a large desk. Within walking distance to The Mall and GW University.

We walked to the White House, the Mall, Pennsylvania Avenue. We shopped for food at Trader Joe's, not far from our hotel.

Horrible Stay
I could not get over how disgusting the room was. Dirty floors, gross furniture, and just a distasteful atmosphere. Everywhere I looked were noticeable signs of wear -- cracked floor tiles, worn wall paper, carpet installed by a 3-year-old. I would not stay at this hotel again for any offered price.

Very warm, spacious, and inviting
