great location

liked the location, could walk to Lincoln Memorial or to Metro, however the room smelled like it had been a smoking room, there were no pots, pans so stove was impractical, needed a microwave, maid came by too early, otherwise great.having drug store next door was very convenient

Comfortable, clean, close...

Great people! Had a blast in DC. Very close to the mall, and a nice area of town. Bring your $ to DC. A burger is $6,000,000.00

Bring food, use the kitchen. you won't find a grocery store or any place for supplies. You can save a lot of $ if you cook for yourself, and they have a kitchen in every room. Use it!

4th of July in DC

The room was nice for the price. The front desk staff were very nice and explained to us how to get to the metro. We went to DC on the fourth of July so it was very crowded. There was a little pharmacy (CVS) next door so we could get some groceries. Other than a few select staff that weren't very helpful, it was a great stay.

State Plaza Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at the State Plaza Hotel over the 4th of July weekend. Convenient location, within walking distance to see the fireworks display at the Lincoln Memorial. Their staff was excellent! We look forward to staying there again.

Great place to stay

This hotel was perfect for our week stay in DC. It was located straight up from the Vietnam memorial and only 3 blocks from the subway. The staff was friendly but not very knowledgable, I would suggest doing your inquires before you get there. The hotel was clean, quiet and located in a nice neighborhood. We would defintely stay there again. There is a bistro in the hotel but it has very limited choices although the choices they had were good. Drug store next door has mostly snack items which was bad since we had a full kitchen I guess the grocery store was only 6 blocks away so you could get food if you wanted. I highly recommend this hotel.

The walk to the mall area is short however the mall area covers a lot of ground. I would suggest taking the subway to the attractions such as the smithsonians, etc... The subway is a reasonable way to travel and inexpensive. It even takes you over to the cemetary.

"Good Location"

Our hotel was good walking distance to see the monuments and the white house but it is quite a walk to arlington. The rooms had kitchenettes in them but no microwave or stove or forks. It had only two pans. The decor was outdated. There was no pool and the veiw was of other buildings right next to you. Overall, it was just okay.

By the old post office we found out that there are bikes for rent for $35 a whole day. I would definatley suggest that otherwise you will be walking A LOT.

Quite a bit for you money

I was able to walk to many sites and had easy access to the metro for those far away places. Short taxi ride from the airport. GREAT STAFF! Kitchen was a disappointment with no microwave and you had to request pans, etc. Still, compared to other places, this was a great value for what I paid through Orbitz.

If you don't want to walk, take the subway (metro) system. It gets you where you want to be quickly and cheaply.
