My review of State Plaza Hotel

The Washington State Plaza was very comfortable, the room was pretty big it had a desk area and a chair. I like that it had a vanity area, and the bathroom had plenty of space. The room had a full kitchen with pans, coffee pot, and toaster. The location was good and there is a nice restaurant downstairs and plenty of other places to eat in the area.

Big Room Good Food

Our room at the State Plaza Hotel was roomy and comfortable. We liked the separate kitchen and dressing room. We didn't like having to walk through the garage to get to the restaurant but the food was great and even the room service seemed reasonably priced. The tv was a little small for the room but it was adequate. Subway, CVS, and Starbucks are right next door and were very handy.

The Metro is only 3 blocks away from the hotel. It is very easy to use and cheap transportation. We used the Metro to go to the Smithsonians and Memorials and it was only a 7 minute ride.

This hotel was absolutely spotless.

This may not be the most modern of hotels but it was immaculate. That goes a long way with me. The staff were polite and attentive when I needed them. There is a Bistro located in the hotel and it was reasonably priced. The food was fresh and made for a quiet retreat from a long day of sightseeing. The State Plaza Hotel is near all of what you want to see in DC. If you like a stroll or hop onto the Metro and you're where you'd like to be. Its located in a quiet part of the city and I would definately want to stay here again. I suggest this hotel for all ages.

Awesome place to stay.

The State Plaza Hotel was an awesome place to stay when visiting Washington, DC... especially since it was pretty much centrally located to all of the points of interest and was in a great area. The room was great, plenty of room for my boyfriend and son to make themselves comfortable. The staff was very helpful and polite, and since we checked in late the staff even gave us menus to local restaurants that frequently delivered to their hotel. There was even a full kitchen! Our stay was overall very pleasant, and we are planning to return again sometime this summer.

Excellent location

Great location between Georgetown and the Mall, White House etc. Very clean room with all the standard features--but a stove and refrigerator were included in a kitchenette. Very nice touch. But the location is the best feature of this very nice hotel.

Pleasant stay

After searching many hotels in the D.C. area I found the State Plaze Hotel. It was economical for D.C. standards. The hotel served a continental breakfast until 9:00 a.m. (extending that by 1/2 hour would have been nice). It had a kitchen, dressing room, bath, bedroom with two queen size beds. Decor was dated but room was maintained by staff. The staff was helpful when asked questions about getting around and restaurants. We were within walking distance of the Mall and a few restaurants. Since we were in the midst of Georgetown and George Washington University we felt very comfortable walking the area.
