Perfect hotel, perfect price, great location

Dubious of the $99 price tag and the great reviews, we booked 1 night here. If you're hesitant, do it! If you have kids and planning a few days here, you'll love the kitchen area. The hotel room was very spacious, the dressing room and kitchen both big bonuses. Hotel very clean and safe. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Walking distance from White House and Lincoln Memorial.

Nicki minaj concert

This hotel was perfect for the cost. Very close to the DAR constitition hall where the concert was located. (walking distance) A 24 hours CVS was next door which came in handy for getting cash back. (atm fees add up) The only problem i had was that i couldnt seem to get the heat to turn on in the room. Now that could have been operator error but i doubt it. Overall I had a great stay.

Home Away From Home

My room was very comfortable and I rested well every night I was there. This was important as I walked every day to visit the many interesting sites that were located close to the hotel. I was tired at the end of the day and the soft, fluffy pillows and soft mattress on the bed was restful. The room came with a kitchenette and this proved to be most convenient. I found the staff to be professional, courteous and helpful. I would consider staying at this hotel the next time I am in Washington D.C.

Not a good hotel

It was a bad experience from the beginning. We checked out after one night. They only had valet parking. The man who did the valet parking complained about having to go get the car. The suite we booked was not what we got. We had to pay $50 more to upgrade. I decide to go online to see if I selected the wrong suite. So I entered the hotel name, instead of the hotel website address and a report came up on the hotel about bed bugs, not to mention that the water from the bath tub ran out so slow. We decide to check out. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Also, it is not in a convenient location.

Excellent family deal

Only negative deal was breakfast. We had a bad expeience, eggs were cold so was the bacon. Not worth the money we paid, so we decided to go to Whole Foods next to Foggy Bottom metro and that was great food and value.

July 4th

My husband and I decided to stay at the State Plaza Hotel over Independence Day 2012. The hotel was in a GREAT location for that. We were able to walk to the national mall to see the fireworks. When we arrived, we were told that all the parking spaces were taken, and that we would probably need to park at a nearby garage. However, they were able to find spot for it, so we did not end up having to do that. Be prepared that their parking is scarce. The room was a suite (its an all suite hotel), and pretty ordinary. We had a room with 2 queen beds, a kitchen, bathroom, closet, and small powder room. The room needed some updating - the cabinets, tile in the bathroom, carpeting, etc. It did have a refrigerator, not full size, but not a mini-fridge, which was nice. There is a restaurant located downstairs, which was good, but a bit pricey. The staff was extremely helpful, especially with directions. Overall it was pretty ordinary, but sufficient.
