Very friendly staff

We were both impressed with the the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. From our check-in when they held our bags for us and directed us to the Metro to the check-out when they called us a cab, they were spot on. We couldn't have asked for a more attentive team of professionals. The restaurant food was excellent with entrees that were more pricey than typical Minnesota hotel fare, but at the same time more exotic. The room was elegant and comfortable. I was especially impressed with the big bathroom and semi-sunken shower. The only issue I had was that the hair dryer didn't work. The location was ideally between downtown and Georgetown and so close to the metro. I hope to stay there again on my next trip to DC!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

If you like Indian food, it's a 2-block walk to the Bombay (something - it's in the directory at the hotel) on K Street. This is the best Indian food I've ever had!! Again, friendly and attentive staff. White linen tablecloth with traditional Indian decor. Superb!

Friendly staff, nice neighborhood

Our room at the St. Gregory was enormous, as was the bath. There was a welcome snack from the manager waiting for us -- a nice touch. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous. DuPont Circle metro was a 5-minute walk, and there were numerous restaurants within a few blocks of the hotel.

I highly recommend Teaism if you're looking for an inexpensive, very fresh Japanese meal. Wonderful selection of teas and fresh fruit drinks (try the ginger lemonade!). Bento boxes, hearty soups, noodle dishes. Informal -- you order at the counter, then take a seat upstairs and they bring your food to you.

Excellent Option

It was a joy to stay to stay at the St. Gregory Hotel & Suites! We paid the small amount extra to upgrade the room and got a corner suite on the top floor. The kitchen had a full size refrigerator and freezer (convenient for keeping drink cool and storing leftovers). The kithen also had a full size stove with oven and the same microwave we have at home. The hotel housekeeping was exceptional. They provided flowers in a little vase for the bathroom and always left the room looking fabulous. I would highly recomend this hotel as an excelent value and a great home base while in Washington, D.C.

Comfortable and friendly

The staff was very friendly and helpful; the room was nice and clean and did not have a low budget-smell. The noise insulation to outside emergency verhicles could be a little better.

Great place to relax

The St. Gregory Luxury Hotels and Suites in D.C. was very nice. The staff was very friendly and most helpful with everything we needed and asked about. The room was super. Sleeping area separate from the sitting/waking area. The bathroom was very spacious and very clean. The small kitchenette was helpful and roomy. Only concern might have been city noises in the morning but was fun to be part of a big city. Lots of places to eat nearby as well as the restaurant in the hotel. Food was very good and prices comparable to any vacation destination.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

All the attractions of Washington D.C. are within walking distance or get there with a short ride on the Metro. The Metro system was actually fun and not at all uncomfortable as some folks might think. Made touring much easier, parked the car and didn't see it again until time to leave.

Very handy location

The St. Gregory was perfectly located two blocks from the location I was working. While I only stayed one night, I found the hotel to be excellent. The room was spacious and clean. There was a short wait at check-in, but the staff was very polite and helpful. There are a number of great restaurants in the neighborhood. I would stay here again.

Comfortable

The St. Gregory had a comfortable room with a large bathroom and plenty of closet space. The bathrooms did not have blowers in them but were otherwise spacious, clean and had plenty of towels. Check in was a little bit of problem. Never had a porter ask if I wanted help, but I had my adult nephew and 16 year old son helping so that may have been a hinderance for them. After trying two times to get my electronic keys to work I left the keys with the front desk and asked them to get it handled by the time I returned. The keys worked upon return and they had sent up a couple of waters and some apples for my incconvenience. I was very disappointed to find that the hotel bar and restaurant were closed upon my arrival on Tuesday. They did reopen it on Friday and I was able to enjoy the lounge for a couple of nights for a night cap. Never did try the restaurant because we had other plans already made. Overall, I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

There are several dining options in a very short distance and there are several clubs in the area too. Georgetown is a little hike, but walkable just as the White House. The rail is several blocks away in either direction.

Courteous and attentive Staff

The St. Gregory Hotel was conveniently located in the heart of the city. The room was clean, comfortable and adequately appointed and the staff were friendly and quick to offer assistance and information. The bathroom was somewhat small but it was sufficient and there was a mini-refrigerator in the room. Eating options were limited to one restaurant in the hotel, though there were several choices close-by. There is no swimming pool or fitness center on-site, however guests may use a nearby gym an no-charge. Parking is a challenge. Overall, as a business traveler, I was quite pleased and would stay there again.
