Hot and Cold

I stayed in two rooms at the St. Gregory hotel on my recent trip to DC and had two different experiences. Over the weekend, a friend and I stayed in one room. During the week, I stayed in a different room. The first room I was in reeked of cigarette smoke, even though it was a nonsmoking room on a nonsmoking floor. On top of that, the iron didn't work and the shower was a bit mildewy. When my friend checked out, I checked into a different room. The second room I was in couldn't have been more different than the first. It was very clean, smoke-free, all of the appliances worked, and there was a lovely little balcony. Staff was very friendly and helpful, though they did put up a bit of a fight when I asked to switch rooms. All in all, I would recommend this hotel.

Great location; Great Staff

Chose the St. Gregory for its proximity to the US passport office. I needed to be within easy walking distance for an 8am appointment. The staff was incredibly welcoming & helpful. The room was wonderful. I was just sorry that I did not have longer to stay & explore the many interesting things to see & do in this close-to-the Capital hotel. I will definitely plan another visit to Washington, D.C. with plans to stay longer at the St. Gregory!

My review of St. Gregory Luxury Hotel and Suites

Perfect location and perfect price, at least over President's weekend. This was my second stay at the St. Gregory and I'd definitely come back. Great rooms, although some of the walls are thin and if you get the wrong neighbor.........but the front desk took care of the noise once I called! We loved it. Great free breakfast, too.

Nice Location

My review of St. Gregory Luxury Hotel and Suites

Rooms were great. It was like living in a small apartment. The staff was very nice and attentive without seeming overly willing to please to the point of almost intruding like many other hotels do. The location was ideal. We had a great time in our nations Capitol! PS Can't say enough about the hotels valets who help out trememdously with much more than parking your car. Ask them anything.

Perfect weekend getaway in DC

The St. Gregory is centrally located in DC, within walking distance to Georgetown and the Metro. Check-in was efficient and painless with no waiting. The lobby is small and a bit awkward in layout, but we had no need to hang out there. Our room was pleasantly decorated and inviting. It resembled a long hallway, so there was little extra space. However, the small parlor comprising the first room was welcoming and had a second TV. The bed in the back room was comfortable and the bathroom amenities were appreciated. The room was QUIET -- just what we wanted. Not much of a view, but we weren't in the room during the day so it didn't matter. Most important, the room was a tremendous monetary value, given its location and comfort level. I can't say it is a good place for young children, however. There is no pool nor any type of free with your stay breakfast. However, if you are looking for a weekend getaway, I can't think of anywhere else to stay. Enjoy!

Very friendly and helpful staff

The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean. The only downside we found was distance to the subway stations. There are 3 in the area, but all are 4-5 blocks away.

DC pleasure trip

I cannot say enough about the hotel, it was luxurious, clean, well staffed, and very attentive. The only drawbacks were additional charges for DSL ($10 per day)and the parking fee($28 per day). Other than that, I loved this place and wished I could stay longer. I was just great.

YOu will find great places to shop and eat in this area. The nightlife is closeby, just check online before you go there and follow a map.Avoid the METRO on Saturdays if possible.
