St, Gregory, Washington DC great for tourists

St. Gregory Luxury Hotel and Suites, Washington, DC is a super hotel for tourists visiting DC. They have (some) suites with full kitchens including dishwashers and stoves for cooking on your own a bit. Good location near Foggy Bottom train station (10 minute walk), National Geographic (15) White House (20). Kind of a business or professional neighborhood near George Washington University. Very safe and clean area. The hotel itself was a great value and can almost be described as contemporary meets elegant.

Great hotel for the price

You can't ask for any more for $107. Large suite, clean, great location and friendly helpful staff. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Nice hotel

Nice hotel, located a block from Dupont Circle, It's pretty close to GW but too far to walk to the most of the campus, especially where the dorms are located. Hotel staff were great...nice and friendly. The weekend parking rate was a very nice surprise when checking out of hotel. I would definitely recommend the hotel to others. I'd stay there again. Several ethnic restaurants in the area to which you can walk. Neighborhood was busy at night, with a mix of tourists, families, and university students and assorted parents...definitely safe for women traveling solo.

Nice place, would stay there again

Nice hotel. Pretty good location, but it is kinda surounded by offices. 3 blocks to the Metro and Dupont Circle. Valet got us a pretty shady cab driver one night, but I don't think that is the hotel's fault.

Friendly staff, nice neighborhood

Our room at the St. Gregory was enormous, as was the bath. There was a welcome snack from the manager waiting for us -- a nice touch. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous. DuPont Circle metro was a 5-minute walk, and there were numerous restaurants within a few blocks of the hotel.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

I highly recommend Teaism if you're looking for an inexpensive, very fresh Japanese meal. Wonderful selection of teas and fresh fruit drinks (try the ginger lemonade!). Bento boxes, hearty soups, noodle dishes. Informal -- you order at the counter, then take a seat upstairs and they bring your food to you.

Nice hotel, good location but . . .

This is a great hotel for the DC area. The cost is very reasonable. The hotel is located in the central city, the rooms were first rate. The hotel is located on M street, a relatively busy street. Try and stay on the non-street side, it will be quieter. The hotel has a fine dining room, but with very limited options, especially for children. In addition, it is quite expensive, but there are many other dining options in the immediate area. I would easily recommend this hotel to anyone, and would stay here again, and probably will.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

The hotel is a relatively short cab ride from the attractions in DC or you can take the Metro to most of them.

Great location and value

Our family stayed at the St. Gregory the weekend after Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. Very interesting lobby and dining decor, excellent food, nice rooms and a great location. Easy walking to DuPont Circle, Georgetown and the major sites and museums.

Great Room

This was my first time at this hotel. It was very clean and the room was great. I had a jr suite. I could not get over how big the room was, especially for a big city hotel room. It was very clean, well decorated, and very comfortable. There is a small restaurant in the hotel, but there were several good restaurants within walking distance so never actually tried the hotel's. The metro was within easy walking distance as well - although we walked to the White House and museums directly from the hotel. This was a very pleasant stay in a very nice hotel for a very reasonable price.

great staff!

The staff was very helpful and friendly. It was a about a 8 minute walk to Dupont circle, and about a 20 minute walk to Georgetown. It really was a great location. My room was clean and comfortable. My only issue was that the internet in the buisness center was not working. Definitly better for leisure then business.
