Great family hotel
My family of four drove down from Connecticut for a four day DC experience. We arrived a few hours prior to check in but a room was available so the front desk clerk checked us in early. We found the room to be very clean with bright white sheets and towels. Bathroom was very clean. Love the sink on the outside of the shower/toilet area. Kitchen had all the utensils/dishes we needed to cook some of our meals in to save money. Pool was great especially being only 3 to 4.5 feet deep. Complimentary breakfast was delicious. Hotel is well within walking distance to museums, monuments, and dining options. Overall a great stay. Will stay again.

Waiting, continue to wait, still waiting
We waited nearly seven hours for a room after we flew in. Thats not the Mariott quality I know. Dont stay if u dont have paitence.

Cool Visit
I've stayed here a few times. Staff is friendly (except the one guy at breakfast) and had no problems during my staff. The heat was working overtime, even when off, and it was extremely hot but they came to fix it right away. Love the store downstairs, the free parking on the street (only on weekends) and overall, great stay.

nice place to stay
the hotel was clean, the room was very nice, the staff was great, very pleasant-helping with all of my questions and providing maps, great free breakfast, close to many of the sites-walking distance-wear good shoes, pool & hot tub 6:30am-11:00pm, places to eat nearby, parking is secure but $30.00 a day - we would stay here again

good family hotel
good clean hotel for family vacation. trains were a little annoying,but not terrible. a short walk to the metro station. the breakfast was a plus, but we wern't around for the dinner. being a couple, we should have stayed at the willard hotel for less money.

Loves to Travel
Great Location
This hotel has a great location, just a few blocks to the metro and the Washington mall. It was quite and very clean. Great breakfast, especially if you have family, a couple of nights during the week the also serve dinner. Great money saver! The rooms were very clean and the staff very friendly. The one down side is parking is very tight, lot is usually full on the weekend and its expensive, $30/night. You can park on the street outside the hotel for free after 6pm until 7am. Very safe to do so, well lite and just outside the front door of the hotel.

Up the Creek with a Paddle
Great accomodations, location, and price
I've recommended the Residence Inn to all of my friends. There is a full breakfast every day, not just bagels and cereal and not just on the weekends. Walking distance from the Smithsonian mall, the Capitol, the Washington monument, and more. After all the walking I really enjoyed soaking my legs in the hot tub.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
If you enjoy seafood you should go to Phillips Flagship. At first I thought the price was a little high, then I saw the massive pots of crab legs, mussels, and other shellfish. You don't have to over-eat to get your money's worth, but i did anyway.
