STAY AWAY

Smallest room we have ever had. The lone chair and "desk"-platform covering air conditioning made one side of the queen size bed inaccessible the other side had a 10 inch space in between the wall. Luckily we are small and could squeeze through, but it was uncomfortable. It is the first time I have felt claustrophic in a hotel room. The walls were lacking any soundproofing. The room next to us was occupied by a family with two young children and it was as if we were sharing a room. Every word the children said was heard clearly. This was our 4th trip to DC in the last year and we always walk miles and are thoroughly exhausted and need rest for the next days' touring. The location is good. Quite convenient to M Street shopping and dining in Georgetown and within walking distance to the National Mall. We tried to checkin at 3:00 and were told to come back after 5:00PM as our room was not ready. The hotel was recently renovated and has horrendous multi colored hideous designed hallway carpeting. Our room contained only a shower, which we were not informed of and the sink had no storage or counter space. The room was so small there was no bathroom door only a sliding partition which completely lacked privacy, light and sound travelled freely. The coffee maker in the room had not been attended and lacked coffee and tea, but there were condiments,i.e. powdered creamer and sugar. We left early Sat. to tour around 7:30AM and when we returned after six to shower and change for our dinner reservations our room had not been cleaned. We had to call for clean towels, then housekeeping showed up at 6:30 to clean! The shower was only lukewarm on all occasions of usage- AM and PM.

Great experience.

The hotel staff was very helpful and polite. The rooms were a bit small, but more than enough room to just get in a relax after a long day of walking and site seeing. The location was amazing, near 2 metro stops (One of which goes to the airport) and Dupont Circle, well worth the extra cash spent.

Great Location

The best feature of this hotel is it's location. It was about 10 to 15 minutes walking distance to everything...monuments, Georgetown, Dupont Circle. Great Chinese restaurant(Meihaw's) across the street and many others just blocks from the hotel. The staff was great. Very capable and friendly. The gym was well equipped and the hotel was quiet and comfortable. Only down sides was the small room, no pool or spa and no complimentary breakfast, although a coffee shop was right next door and Starbucks across the stree.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

My daughter and I enjoyed spending the day shopping at Georgetown. It's a 10 to 15 minute walk there, but there is a shuttle bus across the street that takes you there for $1.

DC in spring

Overall great hotel. Very good location in a clean neighborhood and close to 2 metro stations. Free wifi in hotel lobby is a plus. There is no view for cheaper rooms but the room was clean and we like the large shower space.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Go north (uphill) about 10-20 minutes to get to many dining options along 18th or Conneticut. Don't miss Amsterdam Falalfel on 18th or Afterwords bookstore and cafe.

Rainy weekend in DC

Very friendly and helpful staff. Easy walk down to the Foggy Bottom Metro Station. Dupont Circle, or Georgetown. The rooms are very well appointed though a little small. We did the White House tour and walked back to the hotel in about 25 minutes. Great coffee at Illy's. I would definitely stay here again.

Mediocre Experience

Staff were professional but less than freindly. Room was very small and was described and charged as a "deluxe."

Upscale interior!

I was in D.C. as a tourist. This hotel was in a great location. It has a very trendy interior. The staff were friendly and the breakfast in the hotel was delicious! There was also a Illy coffee shop as part of the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.
