Good location and value

Friendly staff. Reason for lower room cleanliness was the bath mat was dirty which is a bit nit picky but even when it was obvious to the housekeeper on cleaning my room it wasn't replaced. I asked for a room with a view and looked directly out at an office building across the street. Had to stand at window to get a decent view and that was of construction across the street. But I wasn't there to sigh tsee so it was of no major consequence. I was also offered a newspaper outside my room each morning but that never arrived. I would stay there again overlooking these minor issues.

good energy hotel

Nice atmosphere. Friendly bar and nice open layout. Needed book of amenities in room and more signage as to what is in hotel. Otherwise, professional staff and clean rooms.

WASHINGTON RENAISSANCE BY MARRIOTT

The in-house fitness center was great. The room was a little dank at times, owing in part to the sensor-activated climate control and the inability to open windows. The front desk staff were all helpful and friendly. I found some stale Dorito chips on the floor near one of the windows. It would have been helpful to have a hotel book with descriptions of in-room services and the like. It took me a couple of days to discover that the room had a refrigerator.

RFD is absolutely the worst place for customer service and for food and drink availability in the area. Do not go there under any circumstances.

we had asked for two doubles and they didn't have it the first night so we had to change rooms after first stay. very nice location near chinatown and Metro, walking distance to downtown shopping, near a bikeshare depot and Spy Museum. Excellent modern facility. Wifi in lobby, Starbucks, very nice stay

Great Place to stay

So much to see and do in Washington DC, especially with my 11 year old grandson. It was great to come back to the hotel and be able to immediately relax and unwind. The room was great and lacked nothing and enjoyed the public areas as well. One small ciriticism only one restaurant open (sports bar environment) would have been nice to experience the other restaurant. Would definitely come back and stay again in the future.

Great hotel. Beautifully appointed, and excellent staff

Loved our stay at this beautiful hotel. Only issue, was that reservation through travel site did not go through to hotel for bed configuration. had 4 adults (ladies in town for a conference) and no double bed rooms available. Had to put 4 ladies in a king and a pull out. Understand that hotel staff did all they could do, would just recommend calling ahead to double check any request for specific bed configuration. Beautiful hotel. Lovely stay.

Glorious hotel with one poor characteristic

The hotel both honors the glamour of last century's hotels without sacrificing modern amenities. The lobby is very attractive and is manned by helpful guest advisers. This grandeur carries over to individual rooms which are spacious, quiet and comfortable. The only negative is that the PCs in the so-called business center charged 40 cents a minute. During my five day stay, I passed by the PCs four times. At no time were they being used. 40 cents times zero usage comes out to zero dollar revenues. I would recommend the hotel experiment with lower prices to find which price maximizes revenue.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

The spy museum was captivating and filled with surprises. The news museum was far richer in detail than I expected.
