Nice service, poor soundproofing
The hotel was nice, especially the lobby. Pretty decor and a fun lounge area when you walk in. The room was musty and humid however. Our entire trip was ruined by loud, drunk, obnoxious kids in the room next to us. On the second night, we called security and after an hour of fighting at 330AM, they were asked to leave. We could hear EVERYTHING going on in their room - including them going to the bathroom. I believe the hotel should not have put a couple next to a group of kids staying for a wedding. This was extremely upsetting and I would never return to this hotel because of it.

Terrific Location near Metro
The exercise room is much better than typical hotel gym. The location is wonderful. It is close to metro, nice restaurants and the Phillips collection of Impressionist Art.

Grandma Bawb
Convenient and safe location
This was the beginning of our trips with our grandchildren. As they each turn 13, we hope that we can share with them the experience of Washington DC. We felt comfortable and safe in this location. We started each morning with a stop at Starbucks for breakfast. The Metro, which was new to us, was located 3 blocks away. We were able to master that, with the help of our 13 year old grandson! The staff was very helpful and kind! We would definitely return! We have 5 grandchildren and of course, now the 13 wants to return as tour guide! Thanks for making the trip perfect!!!

The Metro is a short walk away. We found that if you are going to be there at least 5 days, buy the week pass. We used the Metro even to return to the airport. We were able to get to all of the Washington DC sites without any problems! It is best not to be in Metro when other folks are going to and from work!

Nice surprise
An efficient staff made this business trip enjoyable. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but amenities and pleasant decor compensated. I'd stay here again and recommend it to colleagues.

I gave up trying to have a conversation in the hotel restaurant and left mid-meal in order to finish a business meeting. The noise level was off the charts at Sunday brunch. What a shame since the food was excellent!

Hotel Palomar
The Palomar Washington DC was an excellent accommodation to an important business trip. Spaciously large room, privacy honored, accommodations for working in the room were excellent. And the zebra and leopard bath robes??? What can one say?
