November in Dupont

Very good location and room size, the free drinks reception each evening was a nice touch. Staff all very helpful, only down size was the room being close to the lift meant the noise was sometimes an issue.

Mixing business with please in DC

This was my 2nd time staying at The Palomar. Inside , everything is great. It's a comfortable and inviting place to come back to after a day of walking around town and taking in the sights. It's location is tough to beat... near DuPont Circle and the Metro station, a comfortable walk to Georgetown, and close accessible to all the museums without being in the high-concentration of tourist lodging. When I go back to DC, this will be on my list.

Great city break

The hotel was in a great location, lots of restaurants within walking distance around DuPont Circle area. The White House was about 15minute walk and 5 minutes to nearest Metro station from the hotel. Would advise if your room has inter-connecting door which you don't need to move rooms as sound proofing not great so can be noisy at night. Room 509 opposite the ice machine which is also noisy when used! Pizza in hotel good and concierge helpful. Would highly recommend a trip out to the Washington Redskins football game, a great experience although tickets pricey.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Get to the attractions early, by 9am, before all the crowds for best photo opportunities. Get to museums at opening time and on weekday too as much quieter. Hop on hop buses are good way to see the city. Be prepared for lots of walking and aching legs!

Hotel Palomar Washington DC

We stayed for 3 nights. Hotel was very clean & comfortable. Staff were brilliant and gave me a signed birthday card and wine (even though I would have left the hotel before my actual birthday). Very helpful with directions, taxis etc. We only had breakfast in the hotel but that was lovely. Only made it to the wine happy hour once, but it was good wine with nice nibbles. Location was good but a little bit of a trek to DC centre in 94o plus humidity. $6 in a taxi to Georgetown for evening meals so great location overall. Couldn't fault the hotel & would definitely stay there again

Baseball weekend

In DC for a Nats game. Picked this hotel for its close proximity to the metro and the availability of a room with 2 queen beds (could not find any other hotels with this combination). So glad we stayed here and will stay again!

Great weekend away

Everything about this hotel met my standards. They do charge 50dollars for parking a day...but I guess that's city living for you! Highly recommend!

Great for Kids

This hotel was amazing for my kids (7 & 8). They offered them each a toy at check-in and told us to call in the evening and they would bring up free milk and cookies for each kid. They also brought us robes for the kids to use and a gold fish to keep in our room. Kids also liked the pool being outdoors as it was the beginning of July and very warm out. Every employee was very friendly and helpful. We went with the executive size room which offered a lot of space for us to hang out in the evenings and no one was ever tripping over anyone else. And, the rates were still cheaper than anything else we could find in a 4-star hotel. The hotel was just a two block walk to Dupont Circle, which offered multiple food choices. The executive size room had plenty of space/seating to eat carry-out food. The hotel was close to a Metro station but we usually grabbed a cab to the monuments/museums. It was about the same price since we had five of us to move around...$10-15. Everyone in our group said we would gladly return to this hotel.

Pizzeria Paradiso!! Unique pizza, not typical, but kids and adults loved it. Do take-out and eat at the hotel...very limited seating.

Great trip with son and grandsons

Everything was great but I thought that the parking of $43 a day was steep. However, they did comp the parking at check out time, that made it all better. I would stay there again with or without the parking fee.

A really good experience

Was impressed with all the small touches. The staff couldn't have been nicer. They really made our baby feel very special. Pool is lovely, wine hour is great, teas/coffee in the morn, staff are excellent. A very well run hotel that I would definitely recommend and go back to.
