Palomar Hotel - amazing location & wonderful service!

We stayed a total of 7 nights at the Palomar Hotel. The location was ideal for restaurants & subway. Georgetown was walking distance which was fantastic! When we arrived, they were serving a happy hour which they have everyday. It was a very nice & relaxing welcome! Every morning they have coffee for guests as well. Gordon & Rachel at the front desk were very helpful with accommodating our needs. Their customer service was perfect and very refreshing! The room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. We never used the pool but that's a great amenity to have to wind down with kids. I would stay here again next time in DC!

I would plan all your visits and get timed tickets. Otherwise, you are not guaranteed entry and the lines are incredibly long.

The best!

We stayed at the Palomar for one night as we were passing through DC on our way home from a vacation. The front desk staff were wonderful and accomodating. I was traveling with my sister and the only room available when I had booked had one bed. The gentleman at the desk immediately responded to my request to change to two beds . We ended up in a beautiful room on the 10th floor with a nice city view. The bell staff was equally helpful leaving the next day as we neede to store luggage for several hours before our transportation arrived. Neither of these acts is necessarily out of the ordinary for a hotel, however the staff handled the situation with grace.

great energy

We enjoyed our visit at Hotel Palomar. The room was very large, and there was great energy with vibrant people in and around the hotel. The restaurant and bar were nice, and we were welcomed with certificates for free wine because we arrived too late for the daily wine reception. Our room and bedding were excellent. The elevators were receiving much needed work, so were very slow, and the hallways are a bit dark. More light would have been appreciated, but overall the experience was very positive. Also, the hotel is dog friendly, which we love!!

Great place to staty while visting DC

This is my second time at the Palomar, my wife and I prefer boutique hotels and this place never fails from decor to staff... We enjoy the DC area and the location is great, you can get to anywhere from there. The dining options are all great and within walking distance as well as the subway (best wat to get around DC in my opinion).

Slow elevators-promises to improve

The Hotel Palomar in Dupont Circle, Washington, DC was an excellent choice for hotels based on location and the attractions we wished to visit while staying overnight. The hotel lobby presented a great public face, but once checked in, the elevators proved to be a problem. The hotel has a bank of three elevators for public use. Two were working when we checked in and both were extremely slow. After waiting once, we took the stairs for every trip up and down. Thank goodness we were only three floors up. Our deluxe suite was nicely appointed, clean and orderly. The staff all were friendly and helpful. Overall, a nice stay when one ignores the elevators.

Obelisk, the Zagat rated restaurant, is located just a block away and worth the cost of the meal. Excellent food and service in a small intimate restaurant.

Lots of amenities, a tad pricey

The Hotel Palomar is on the pricey side but there are a TON of amenities offered by the hotel. However, it's the small touches that make this an excellent hotel-- yoga mats in each room, a well stocked gym, happy hour in the bar, tasteful, modern decor on the rooms. All this plus an amazing location, you can walk or take the metro anywhere! Great stay in DC.

The perfect hotel for business or leisure

Vibrant crowd in the lobby during the free wine glass hour but yet peaceful hallways and rooms. I love the fact that they take pets. Perfect location with bagel shop across street and Coffee shop on corner. Dont stay anywhere else.
