Since 1930, the Omni Shoreham Hotel has hosted presidents, world leaders and inaugural balls. The hotel is on 11 acres of land in the Woodley Park neighborhood and offers the perks of staying at a resort, while also being in the city. Great place to stay when visiting D.C.!
The Omni Shoreham is a very beautiful historic hotel. It is located in the Woodley Park, Adams Morgan area away from the hustle and bustle of downtown DC. A good quiet place to relax and just enjoy. Not to mention the price was very reasonable for all that we received. If you plan to head to the attractions and monuments, all it takes is a short subway ride (about 5 stops with one transfer at the Chinatown station). Total travel time is about 20 minutes. The metro station is about a few minutes walk from the hotel.The area the hotel is located is very convenient. There is a CVS store by the metro where you can by snacks and drinks. Below the CVS is a McDonalds. Across the street is practically restaurant row with plenty of dining options available. Please read the Helpful Hint.In regards to the hotel itself, there were a few things that prevented me from giving this hotel the full 5 stars. First of all, almost everyday we stayed here, there was some kind of conference going on downstairs causing the lobby to be very crowded and noisy. Second, most of the staff were unfriendly, almost smug in a way, except the few who were extremely nice. It just sucks that they will be lumped in with the others. Lastly, we were woken up in the early morning by some ENGINEER TWICE. On normal work days, being woken at 8:00am is perfectly OK, but this was my vacation and being waken up that early is an absolute NO NO. I ignored his first wake up call hoping he would just leave us alone but then he came back a half an hour later knocking and speaking louder. I will not forget the one word he kept repeating "ENGINEERING"! Is it NOT obvious there is someone in the room sleeping if you cannot use your universal key to open the [*] door? Other than that, it was very pleasant and I will definitely be back when I go back to DC. PS: We heard about jumbo slice pizzas toward the east side of Adams Morgan across the bridge and had to go try it. If you are game to walk the distance, it is WORTH IT! You can take the bus but wheres the fun in that?

One block northeast from the hotel contains a street long full of different restaurants ranging from Italian, Chinese, Mediterranean, Indian, Afghan, and even a McDonald's or Chipotle. You will not go hungry living here.

Wonderful place to stay & go back to
We stay there whenever we go to DC, which is about every 7 years. It's as warm and wonderful as it was 20 years ago. My husband is now disabled and everyone was warm & caring toward us both. Very handicapped accessible.

Beautiful place to stay
Beautiful place to stay and attend cherry blossom festival. Amazing location, friendly staff and quite atmosphere of historic hotel. You will really enjoy the place plus it's in walking distance from the Dupont circle & other hot-spots located in heart of Washington DC

Spring Break at Omni
My son and I took our first trip to DC for spring break. There was a big conference being held there when we arrived. Despite the enormous crowd that was in the lobby when we arrived, the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were not inconvenienced by the large group. Our room was well appointed and comfortable. It was a little chilly so we didn't get a chance to enjoy the pool. The garden area was BEAUTIFUL. The flowers were in full bloom. The restaurants in the area were hit and miss. Close to metro stop. Overall an excellent vacation.
