A treasure!
I prefer staying in boutique hotels when I stay in large cities. The Morris-Clark is definitely a top choice for my next visit. The suite was large and clean, the service and staff were truly exceptional, and the location was perfect for getting to area destinations and restaurants. The hotel's own restaurant was very tasty and the staff was friendly and helpful there, too. This historical hotel is certainly a US treasure.

Wonderful value
The service was exquisite. Extremely convenient location to the Convention Center and my conference location, the Renaissance Center. Several blocks to nearest Metro station, but doable, even with luggage. Wonderful respite from sterile, cookie-cutter generic hotel rooms. Room was small, but that really added to the charm. There was a desk to work at, which was all I needed other than a bed. Lovely restaurant on site. The only downside was considerable stairs at the entrance, which was a challenge with luggage. The bell staff tried its best, but with two entrances not in easy view of each other, they couldn't always be there to help. Quiet for the middle of a noisy city.

We loved this place!!! The location is perfect because is close to main attractions (walking distance). It's a very cozy place, staff is wonderful and the most important...it's a very clean place. My favorite part was the bed.. I slept like a baby those two nights that we spent there for our family trip!

Great service, beautiful hotel!
Everyone was extremely nice and the service was first class (turn down service and clean rooms every day) The only drawback was that the location is a little too far from metro stations,But, them again, the walk couldn't hurt!

Excellent place to stay
I would not have found this place if Orbitz had not suggested it, and I really enjoyed this hotel. It's a simplier experience. They don't have a fitness center or pool, but they have a porch and a courtyard where you can sit outside to visit with friends, or enjoy your cocktails during happy hour. We like to stay downtown in DC, because we enjoy walking to see the sights. The bus and subway were also easily accessible from the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, the food in the hotel was reasonable and good. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable. I'm not sure if they do this daily, but one afternoon they provided fresh baked cookies and home-made lemonade in the afternoon. I would stay here again.

Long walk from hotel
We visited Thompson Boat Center which was a bus ride and then about a mile walk. They had kayaks available, but we opted to rent bikes and then rode the bike path along the Potomac River. Very nice break from the traditional things to do in DC.

Visited our Rep. John Mica of Florida and took part in the 1.7 million Americans Tea Party Freedom March,Against our out of control Government spending. We missed not allowing for More time to enjoy the history of our country. We had visited Washington D.C. two years before. This trip was much greater but Their is so much more to be seen.

Sleep, eat breakfast and run. Have stayed here before and always liked it. This time, they upgraded me to a fabulous suite, at no extra cost of course.

AMAZING, surpassed expectations!
After reading some negative reviews, I was skeptical about what to expect. All that worrying was for nothing because THE HOTEL WAS AMAZING. When I booked the hotel, our room description simply said "Standard Room with Queen bed", but what we got was anything but standard. I'm not sure if we were unknowingly upgraded, but our room was a two room suite!! Our bedroom had 4 beautiful large bay windows and we had a HUGE separate living room, complete with a sofa pull out bed, desk, coffee table, and TV. However, like I previously said, we might have been unknowingly upgraded because according to the other reviews of this hotel, there is no way anyone would complain about this gorgeous two room suite. The hotel is in a fantastic location and the staff was extremely pleasant and courteous. Having only paid about $100 (incl. taxes) for our Friday night stay in the middle of the summer, we would come back here again in a heartbeat!

Superb service, great place to stay
On arrival after a difficult journey we discovered that our reservation had never been received by the hotel. The desk staff solved the problem with great courtesy: we were given an upgraded room and were made to feel extremely welcome. I would absolutely recommend the Morrison Clark: a delightful place to stay.
