Excellent, close to the attractions
Pros: Excellent hotel, very clean, excellent bed, balcony, close to the attractions, great restaurants, metro station very close Cons: No free WiFi Stayed here two nights when visitng DC. The hotel & room were excellent, for the price we paid in Dec'11 ($99), it was amazing. The room (with king bed) had a walkout balcony & an excellent view of the Washington monument. There are apparently other rooms that have better views of the national mall. The hotel is walking distance to all the attractions, has a good restaurant & bar. There's also a small shopping mall with a food court downstairs from the hotel. The metro station is very close. Valet parking was a bit pricey but worth it for not having to worry about finding a spot. The reason I didn't give this 5stars is that there was no free WiFi. However, will recommend this without hesitation. Great place.

Washinton DC
Motel was close to all the attractions and Metro. Clean. Not a lot of amenities. Had to pay for any wifi or computer access. food expensive at the motel but there was a food court with ok prices just below the motel near the metro. These closed early and had to eat at the motel most nights if out all day seeing the sites. The Metro station within the motel was a plus. Easy and affordable transportation to any of the city. close enough to walk to the smithsonian and monuments.

Washington weekend getaway
This was our second stay at L'Enfant Plaza Hotel. We plan our stay on Friday & Saturday nights when the rates are lower. This hotel is a great value for Washington. L'Enfant is located right on the National Mall, so much of Washington is with in walking distance. A night time stroll down the National Mall was the highlight of our stay. The hotel is clean, everything works and the staff is very helpful. The restaurant on site is OK, we opted for a taxi ride downtown for dinner the second night.

Slightly worn luxury
The location was perfect for visiting the Mall and the various Smithsonian sites. Metro in the basement, as well as a promenade with some shops and food. The hotel itself is showing a bit of wear, but still strives to be up to the level it once was. Pool hours could have been longer, but off-season explains the limitation.

Long walk from hotel
The hotel food was ok, but a bit expensive. Aside from the few food outlets in the promenade, most dining was a long hike from the hotel, to the North of the Mall.

From your door to anywhere in DC
The room was very large, making for a comfortable stay. The location of the hotel is perfect for first time DC visitors who want to metro to different neighborhoods. Though not as modern as newer hotels, I would still stay here again. She isn't the prettiest belle at the ball, but she could still dance.

Friendly upgrade
My first room was dingy and smelled of stale smoke. I was given an upgrade to a very nice room with a view...and close to the elevator. Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel restaurant service was also friendly and the food was excellent. Check-out was easy. Having the metro beneath the hotel alleviated walking and some sites, such as the Holocaust Museum, were close and within an easy walking distance. This was my third stay at L'Enfant and I will select this hotel again on future D.C. visits.
