Recreation/Attractions tip, Long Walk

The walk from the hotel to the National Mall is about 2 miles and well worth it during the summer. If the walk is too much the metro is close and so easy to use.

"Three thumbs up!"

Will Sep 14, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

I lived in Washington, DC for 12 years and return 6 times per year for business and pleasure. This was the first time I ... stayed at the Hotel Palomar. I have stayed at numerous hotels in DC and around the world. My Palomar experience is among the top three I have ever had. The staff -- every one of them I encountered -- were friendly, professional and "can do" oriented. My room was intelligently designed. They thought of everything, even down to dimmer switches on all their lighting and lamps. The lobby provides the perfect place to chill with visiting friends or associates. The restaurant offers an excellent menu and quality presentation. Finally, the location -- just a few blocks from Dupont Circle and the Metro there -- couldn't be better. I honestly look forward to my next visit to Washington, DC just so I can stay at the Hotel Palomar!

Minutes from the Dupont Circle metro stop, this hotel has the perfect location. You can take the metro to all of the tourist ... attractions during the day and stroll around Dupont Circle at night without having to worry about any transportation costs. The free wine from 5-6 is an added bonus. The concierge was very helpful when we asked for assistance in chossing a guided tour and directions to Georgetown (which is walking distance). I was a little worried when booking that the room would smell like dog since the hotel is pet friendly, but it didn't at all. It smelled great! Loved it!

Everyone should go to Mount Vernon and if you do, go as early in the day as possible. We went on Father's Day and the line to get into the main house was over an hour long. Also try to buy tickets for many of the D.C. attractions online (small service charge but well worth it to avoid long lines).

Dining tip, Short Walk

The food at the Palomar was excellent. Also, across the street we ate at the Bistro, where the food was great and every one of the waiters sang songs with the pianist once in a while, and the pianist and the singing waiters/waitresses were extremely talented.

Recreation/Attractions tip, Short Walk

Check out 'DC by Foot.' It's a free walking tour of the mall area. They meet at the corner of 15th and Constitution. Just do a Google Search and you'll find their times and more info.

Money savers tip, Short Walk

There is a small little breakfast spot across the st. from the hotel, they make fresh bagels every morning, the bagels were great and the prices were great too!

Nightlife tip, Short Drive

Adams Morgan is a nice place to go if you want an upbeat atmosphere and some drinks. It's a short cab ride for $6.75

Sorry, we cannot perform that search at this time. Either the pick-up or drop-off location needs to be an airport.
