Noisy

Our room was fine, the only problem was some noise that came from the outside, in one of the patios of the building. Staff was helpful and nice and is very conveniently located.

Welcome Change

If you are looking for a nice change from the typical US hotel chain, this is the perfect choice! European-style elegance, great service, and charming rooms were most welcome. We stayed with two adults and one child, and all of the staff were most welcoming. The location was GREAT...closest Metro station two blocks away; CVS, Starbucks, Kinkos within a block; and many other good eateries and a Whole Foods right in the neighborhood. If you're looking for a break from the tour-group crazed larger hotel chains, I definitely recommend this hotel!

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Buy a rechargeable SmarTrip card for the Metro and navigate the city with ease. Closest station is Foggy Bottom, two blocks away. Farragut West and Farragut North are also walking distance. Walking time to the White House right down Pennsylvania Ave. is 15 minutes.

hotel lombardy

We found the rooms to be very nice, very clean. My only suggestion would be better lightning on the kitchen area and bathroom lighting. It wasn't evident to us that the bathroom has a dimmer switch and so we dealt with the low lighting. I did not like the parking tax and the manager cut the price in half. They don't have very much of a lobby. For our purposes it was very good. We went to DC to visit the WWII memorial as my Dad fought in Anzio, Italy and I wanted him to see the tribute to his service. I am proud of his service and was blessed to see the depth and breath of our greatest generation's service to the people of the United States and to the world.

Nice location for the reasonable price

We visited D.C. for multiple purposes, including attending the information session of Gerge Washington Univ. This hotel is conveniently located in a walking distance to the GWU, White House, and a few blocks to Metro Station. The room was clean and cozy, and has a separate eat-in-kitchen-type of space. Since we stayed during Easter holidays, a lot of nearby restaurants and stores were close, and we couldn't take full advantage of this hotel, but still had a great time.

sisterly trip

This is my first time in DC. We booked this hoel because it is close to the University where the conference was. The hotel is one of the historic buildings in DC and it is very cozy and clean. The hotel staffs are courteous, friendly, and always available to assist us. The hotel is in close vicinity to the bus stop, airport, George Town, and the National Mall. We strongly recommend this hotel!

Nice hotel, although without microwave

The rooms are very confortable with a beautiful furniture. There is a little kitchen, good for fastfoods, but it doens't have microwave, only refrigerator. The employees are very kind. It's a bit far from the National Mall, and you must be a good walker to visit there. However, it's near Georgetown, that you have to visit. It's unforgetable!

A great Foggy Bottom find!

We found the hotel to be a great jumping-off point for walks to the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, and other less well-known destinations in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood. It was a perfect location, with great dining options nearby and a pharmacy a block away, in addition to its proximity to the Mall.

The Cafe Lombardy provided the best meals of our stay, and diners seated near us were similarly pleased with their dishes. Perfect option on a rainy evening!
