Foggy Bottom hotel with 1920s European elegance and modern amenities
The Hotel Lombardy was built in 1926 as an apartment building and retains its original character with 1920's decor and elegant interior design. Cafe Lombardy, a European-inspired bistro, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a children's menu. The Venetian Room Bar and Lounge charms guests with its cozy fireplace. Guests can indulge in a glass of wine or a cocktail and a bite to eat from the small plates menu. The hotel is between Georgetown and downtown D.C., and near George Washington University.

Great location and sooo cute!
Great location for walking to many of the sites in DC and to Metro. Bed was very comfortable, room was immaculate and I loved the exrtra "little rooms" (kitchen area and dressing room). In addition, very helpful and polite staff. Great bang for your buck!

Excellent location with friendly staff
The Hotel Lombardy is located on Pennsylvania Ave. in the heart of DC. We were greeted by a friendly bellman and gracious staff at check-in, even though we arrived late in the evening! This historic hotel has an elevator operator - a unique experience - and was quick to meet all of our needs! The room was comfortable with a view of the court yard below. It was quiet which was surprising since we were right on a main road! There was excellent access to the Metro two blocks away along with waiting taxis anytime we needed one! The staff offered to help with any arrangements we needed! We ate several meals including dinner and breakfast in the hotel cafe, but were directed to other restaurants nearby when we looked for a change!

All of the sights are with a several block walk, short drive or short ride on the Metro. The Mall area, Capitol complex and National Zoo are all easily accessible.

Great Location-Helpful Staff
While the building is old and historic, the rooms arecomfortable. Closet space adequate, the bed was very comfortable. Tkhe bathroom was new and large. The mini refrigrater was a nice touch. The HVAC system was noisy. It did not bother me, but it might be a problem for others.The restaurant has a good staff and the food is quite good. All and all the staff are an excellent group. The metro is two blocks from the hotel and it was easy to get a cab. Also a short walk to shops and restaurants.

Kinkades restaurant is on block from the hotel. It is an excellent establishment. Good food at reasonable prices with an excellent staff.

Good business locale
The Pros: Great Location for business (walking distance to good restaurants and non-government office buildings. Clean, good sized room with comfortable bed; excellent staff. The Con: Cell service in the room was minimal which affected computer use.

pleasant staff & great location
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lombardy. The staff was very pleasant, the room was clean and nice, there was a fitness center for working out, free internet, great location...I could go on. It was great.

Great Location
This hotel is definitely for those who already know the DC area. The only draw back was no concierge. Also the room contained no information on the area or the metro. so it was best if you were a seasoned dc guest. the room was spacious and the staff was great, very friendly.

EXCELLENT front desk
Hotel Lombardy was perfectly situated near the Mall, Metro and Georgetown. The elevator operators, doormen, and front desk personnel couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. They were able to answer all of my questions regarding sight-seeing and were most helpful with dining options besides the ones offered at the hotel. I can hardly wait to return.

Good dining around the block -Legals Fish, Penn Grill for breakfast and lunch and Georgetown is approx. 6 blocks away which has many dining options.

Perfect stay
The staff are really super nice here. The old time elavator with operator was a treat for my ten year old. The room was clean and was really classy. The metro train stop was two blocks away. The White House is three or four blocks away. Georgetown is only about eight blocks away.

Reasonably Priced Hotel in DC
Ended up in this hotel because my normal hotels were booked. It is an old hotel that has been updated and is reasonably priced for DC. Convenient to The White House area. Nothing extraordinary but if you looking for a decent place to stay for a good price this is a good choice.
