Foggy Bottom hotel with 1920s European elegance and modern amenities
The Hotel Lombardy was built in 1926 as an apartment building and retains its original character with 1920's decor and elegant interior design. Cafe Lombardy, a European-inspired bistro, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers a children's menu. The Venetian Room Bar and Lounge charms guests with its cozy fireplace. Guests can indulge in a glass of wine or a cocktail and a bite to eat from the small plates menu. The hotel is between Georgetown and downtown D.C., and near George Washington University.

A couple meeting in DC
great for a visit to the heart of DC
The staff was really friendly and accommodating. The Hotel's location was a really short walk from the National Mall and really close to some great restaurants!

Cherry Blossom Chaser
Clean and close to train
A clean hotel, close to the train station and the GW campus. I stayed here one night. The room was very nicely decorated in a 1920's style with framed obis (kimono ties) decorating the hallways and a framed kimono in the room. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was quiet at night.

Historic hotel
I loved the old elevator with the closing gate. The room was fine although the view was of another building. The bathroom has been remodeled but keeping in the old style. It seems that it is located on a quiet street in the middle of the block so not much traffic to worry about.

Wonderful Hotel!
This hotel was wonderful! The rooms were very large, including a separate galley wet bar area. The bathroom had a small sitting room beside it. It is in a great location not far from a metro stop. There were good restaurants located within walking distance.

Good business locale
The Pros: Great Location for business (walking distance to good restaurants and non-government office buildings. Clean, good sized room with comfortable bed; excellent staff. The Con: Cell service in the room was minimal which affected computer use.

Very friendly
The Hotel Lombardy was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is an older restored hotel that has much charm and character to it. The restaurant was very good & our service was outstanding. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to experience a bit of the old with the new. The location is ideal for walking to all the area sites and enjoying the city. We had a wonderful long weekend & look forward to our next visit.

Excellent location with friendly staff
The Hotel Lombardy is located on Pennsylvania Ave. in the heart of DC. We were greeted by a friendly bellman and gracious staff at check-in, even though we arrived late in the evening! This historic hotel has an elevator operator - a unique experience - and was quick to meet all of our needs! The room was comfortable with a view of the court yard below. It was quiet which was surprising since we were right on a main road! There was excellent access to the Metro two blocks away along with waiting taxis anytime we needed one! The staff offered to help with any arrangements we needed! We ate several meals including dinner and breakfast in the hotel cafe, but were directed to other restaurants nearby when we looked for a change!

pleasant staff & great location
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Lombardy. The staff was very pleasant, the room was clean and nice, there was a fitness center for working out, free internet, great location...I could go on. It was great.

Great Place to Stay
My mom and I recently stayed at Hotel Lombardy. This was my first visit to Washington D.C. and based on the hotel's location, it was suggested this was a good choice. It turns out it was a great choice! The staff was very friendly and we were able to get a double room when we checked in. It was very clean, linens were awesome, comfortable bed and overall cozy accomodations.
