Weekend in DC

Friendly staff. Quick check in and out. Dining options just okay. Typical hotel food. Out of the way location for restaurants. Take a cab or the Metro. Metro station is close. Room was just okay. Nothing special. Due for a refurb soon. Unless you want to spend all day walking don't believe the distance list to monuments and museums (except air and space museum). It's a long walk to anywhere! I'd stay there again now that I know what to expect.

good value hotel, great location

Room was clean, two double beds, fridge in room was useful, a small microwave would have been nice. Lighting in bathroom was very dim. Front desk, housekeeping, and restaurant staff were pleasant and helpful. Great location for Smithsonian museums. A good value hotel.

Great location, clean hotel

The hotel is in a great location to visit Smithsonian museums and other D.C. must-see spots. One and a half blocks from the L'Enfant metro stop, which can be taken from Reagan National airport. For the location, the price is excellent. The hotel isn't the nicest in the area, but for the price, it's not bad. If you're interested in night-life, stay somewhere around Dupont Circle instead.

Spring Break 2011

This location is great for visiting the the sights. Our rooms were on the 5th floor and facing the train tracks that blew their horn many times during the night. A mircrowave would have also been nice to accompany the refridgerator that was in the room.

Nothing to write home about.

It was nothing to get excited about but for the money in that location - 2 blocks from the "MALL" it was a deal and the room was clean - the staff friendly.

The hotel breakfast was $14.95 each - That would have been over $60.00 for us! So we walked the 1/2 block to McDonalds - breakfast for 4 - $12.00!

Decent - but recommend some deep cleaning

Pros: Great location for our first trip to DC. Was able to walk to many of the museums and landmarks that were on our list. Easy access to Metro stops. Was mostly clean and had the amenities I expected. Nice to have a fridge in the room. Also there's a Starbucks in the same building and a less expensive coffee/deli option on the same block and a CVS pharmacy on the same block. There is also a McDonalds on that same block. Cons: Bathroom had mold in the shower/tub ceiling. Possibly due to the fact that there's no vent fan in the bathroom. Also mold on the tiles/grout in the tub area. Air conditioning unit looked nasty. The grates on the unit looked like they had not been cleaned in a long time. Also - when it turned on there was a nasty smell - not unlike rotten eggs. The smell eventually went away (or we got used to it). Lastly, they tried to bill us $16.99 for a movie. When we checked out I inquired which movie and she came back with an adult-film title. I assured the front desk staff that since I was traveling with my husband, 20 month old, mother and father, I was 100% certain no adult movies were viewed. She said she'd take it off the credit card. Glad I double-checked the invoice and didn't just do the "express" checkout.

If you just want basic coffee and an inexpensive breakfast, walk down the block to the Deli/Cafe instead of Starbucks.
